...are you secretly hoping for a first round loss? McHale is not getting fired if Houston somehow gets to the WCF and he might stay if they wind up in a long, competitive series with the Spurs. You guys really want to keep this guy at the wheel going forwards?

have you known our GM to be complacent? He's made moves every year since he's been here. He's no fool unlike our Football team's owner. If he thinks he can upgrade the HC position he will do it.

Not really son. I think the Spurs will dispatch the Rockets in 5. If Harden goes ham, the series will end in 6 tbh.

Coming back to Mchale, your best bet would be Thibs cause you have 2 top ten players in their prime. More importantly it'll be the perfect team for him with a defensive anchor like Dwight and a shooting guard who can create and score at will in Harden. And if Noah comes calling, look out! :wow

I think the rockets are stuck with mchale through next season regardless of what happens. I don't think they'll re-up his contract though.

Before you hobble him---wait. Wait for him to fail. Jesus Christ, Howard will keep. Nobody, especially Media will insist that you call the ball accurately & take Howard to the woodshed. No, they'll back you when you take up the hemp rope & lynch McHale. No problem. He's white with a history of gross cheating up North that he never answered for. So he'll go to that tree with woe written on it with nary a grudge. He owes one to the house.

Not really. Les Alexander the owner wanted a cheap option at coach because he got tired of paying Adelman for missing the playoffs. McHale and Morey are polar opposites. McHale hates basketball analytics.

The better questiom is what's out there that's worse?

The reason McHale is the coach is so Morey can implement his offensive philosophy and pull all the strings. While Adelman was here there was a lot of tension because he wanted his own freedom and Morey wanted to run the show. McHale is a yes man, who won't interfere, but will be gone by next year since this team has the main pieces together. If he isn't , it will not look good on Morey...who would be valuing more power over the team's long term success.

Hollins, George Karl, SVG are all better candidates.

If he loses in first round, he might not be gone anyway since Les Alexander is a cheapskate and McHale is a cheap option. He won't fire him with 1 season left on his contract. That would be the worst case scenario so I hope they advance and his contract doesn't get renewed after next year

George Karl would be solid, but you can forget about the Van Gundy brothers.

McHale was only suppose to be here as the Rockets tanked. He was the perfect coach for a shitty tanking team. Then the basketball gods gifted Houston with James Harden and then a year later with Dwight. Only problem is, the players really like McHale and he was one of the reasons why Dwight came.

Because of Dwight? I think Stan would be difficult, but Jeff had nothing to do with it.

Rockets need a Lionel Hollins. Jeff ain't gonna discipline anyone, and Tom Thibadeu was the one who made him.

LOL Shows what a genius Dwight is tbh ...
Dwight lacks the feet or the touch to emulate Kevin ...

His game is more Alonzo, Pat Ewing (minus the jumper) tbh ...

He didn't go there because of McHale, he went because of Harden and thanks to Kobe.

Howe did Rox not win more with THAT combo on staff?

I did not say that GB did ...
Kobe did fine work.
He ran off Dwight and the $128 mill we were gonna pay and got 48 for himself, he may have screwed us but smart move by him.
Oh and Fuck Dwight did not want him at $128 anyways

(no dont want kobe at $48 either)

Also, JVG's offense with the Rockets was goddamn horrendous. It's no coincidence those teams were great defensively and still won 50 games a year.

How did Thibs "made" Jeff, when Jeff's best years were in '93-'94 with the Knicks and Thibs was actually a Spurs assistant? He only joined Jeff in '97...

Jeff influence comes from being an assistant to Riley and Nelson in the Knicks.

I don't know about that Nono...JVG's offense could be considered even worse than what the Pacers run now. Would love him as an assistant to someone..but he'd never take it.

there's always a contradiction between offense and defense imho. JVG's defense is primarily achieved at the expense of offensive game, dude's just like the inverse version of M_A. And when he was working with the Lockets he couldn't even guide his team through the first round despite having two superstars on his squad, roosing to the Jazz two years in a low.

that' would be too ideal to be true imho. It does really exist but it is very rare. Like, in most cases, you can't be a man and a bitch at the same time (shemales are in sheer minority compared to the world's population, you can ask FkLA for more info)

Naturally.

So what do you think of the Mavs vs. Spurs? Take them to 7 games!
