I disagree. A lot of people see their point guards play less effectively in the Playoffs and conclude that they are choking. In reality, the post season is when you see the defenses in the league step up, focus on the best player on the other team, usually the point guard, and put big guys on them to slow them down or make their passes harder to make.

Virtually every team tries to do it against the other teams' point guards because that position is so critical to the offensive set flow for each team. We do it against CP3 for the same reason, and it "looks" to a casual fan as though Parker has beaten CP3 yet again. In fact, Danny Green has usually been assigned to CP3, and he is several inches taller with a wider wing span and a chance to make Chris paul look off his game.

It happened to Tony in the finals last season when they put LeBron on him.

Any time a speed-oriented point guard is guarded by a talented, much bigger buy, the pg loses that game.

Both coaches have to figure out how to get the ball up the court if the pg is drawing double teams or a big defender with someone else. Additionally, the entire team has to be aware of what the defenders are doing and step up to provide better screens for the pg or handle the ball for the pg. Whoever the big defender would normally be defending must be open, so the rest of the team has to aware and move the ball to the open guy.
