I would. I am strangely nervous about this series tbh..Dallas defense sucks. Spurs have owned them since Tiago/Boris came into the fold. Spurs swept them this year. Mavs are spare parts pieced together. But I'm still a little uneasy because of the respect I have for Dirk, how well Monta has played and how well RC has coached them. Not enough to predict a tough series on ST, but I just hate playing teams that have nothing to lose and a great player with franchise history between the two.

The only thing that bugs me is that I'm so confident this will be an easy sweep that a single loss would be rattling :lol

Should, IMO. The thought of DeJuan Blair sending Timmy into retirement should slit wrists all over south texas, tbh...

They haven't done that in over 3 years tbh.

Marion may still do a decent job guarding him, limiting his output to that of a role player's (10-15 ppg, 5-6 reb) but at the offensive end Marion is a flat out liability. Marion today is just a one-dimension defensive C (like Ben Wallace) trapped in a SF's body.

spurraider21
04-17-2014, 10:36 PM
guarding leonard doesn't really matter, as he doesn't have a lead role in our offense. he usually attacks in transition, or if he gets a mismatch out of transition. otherwise he stands in the corner and has timely cuts, thats really about it. having your best defender shadow him is sort of a waste

Agree here, it's never easy to make your defensive plan against the Spurs because there isn't any primary scorer to spot and pay intensive care. Mavs defense may cope well with offenses where most shots are taken by 1-2 main guys, but they can hardly make ends meet if the opposing team plays team ball like the Spurs do. That's also why when they were playing the Warriors they felt much easier with Curry on court instead of Blake. Blake moves the ball better and organizes the offense, while Curry is an attacking-first PG.

I still remember that day, bb. It was 8:17 p.m. and I had just gotten home from work. My jaw hit the floor when I witnessed the event that shall not be named. When I heard my wife's voice on the other end, the relief rushed through my body.

Welp, that lasted about, what, three games? Leonard was pretty good as the series wore on; not as good as I hoped, but 15/8 with some steals/blocks/assists thrown in with great defense was good enough this round (and maybe next).

if their old guards stay with them Mavs for reasonable prices (dirk for 10m/yr or less, Marion vet minimum) the Mavs will have enough room to land a star player (Irving, for example) in the summer, then they'll be right back in the top 4 of the west. if Dirk still wants to win he will take the pay cut, that's what a real leader would do, rather than demand a 2yr 49m contract tbh.

sounds like the dwight sweepstakes all over again, the mavs clearing cap room trying to land a franchise player only to end up with calderon and ellis.

:lol thinking cleveland wouldn't match for kyrie
