During the 2003, 2005, and 2007 NBA Title runs, the Spurs lost their very first playoff game. 2003 was at home against Phoenix and 2005 and 2007 were at home against Denver both times. In the last cases, the Spurs completed the backdoor sweep and won the series 4-1. The 2003 series against Phoenix lasted six games, however.

Should we root for the Spurs to lose their opening playoff game versus Dallas, tbh? :lol
