@Monroe_SA: Craig Sager, on missing NBA playoffs to battle acute myeloid leukemia; "Too bad, I had some probing questions for Pop."

Get well soon Craig! We'll miss your interviews with Pop.

Sounds like he's in (at least relatively) good spirits. Playoffs won't be the same without him. Leukemia is no joke. Hope he recovers fully and quickly.

Stuff like that really puts things in perspective. It's just a game. Get well soon, Craig.

Yeah, hopefully he gets well and chalks up a W against leukemia. Playoffs aren't the same without Sager and his crazy outfits.

Nice guy. A few years back I was early at a game taking pics and he comes out of the tunnel in one of his outrageous suits. He's about 50 feet away and notices me taking photos in his direction and gestures "me?" He heads right over shakes my hand and says "let's do this right!" He takes my camera gives it to my wife and with TNT mic in hand proceeds to conduct a fake interview as my wife snaps away. Cool memory and pics I'll treasure. Get well soon Craig!

Seems like a good guy and all that stuff between him and Pop is just a joke between the two Im sure. I bet those reporters hate doing those dumb ass interviews at the end of quarters. Get well soon Craig.

Craig is good people, even when the cameras aren't rolling. He talks to people, a lot of people, before the games.

Best of luck, Craig. Fight like a Braveheart.

Weird sense of style, but great guy.

AML is a very serious form of leukemia. Chances of recovering are not very good. Lost a gf to AML.

5 year mortality rate is 75% for his age segment.

Pop needs to wear one of those funky suits during one of the games as a tribute to the guy, IMO...

5 year survival rate is 24%. Even lower for his age.

5 year survival rate is 24%. Even lower for his age. My gf was half his age and told she was given 3-5 years. She didn't last that long.

Pop is just a joke between the two Im sure.

The TV channel (I think TNT) even has a special counter (called "Getting Popped") with the number of words uttered by Pop during the interview. Clearly a joke.

Its not the size of the dog in the fight...its the size of the fight in the dog. Swing for the fences, Craig and beat that shit. Pop should visit him and show respect.

I saw on the TNT pregame that Craig Sager Jr wanted to interview Pop before the game but Pop insisted it be done after the 3rd quarter. I can see why now. Respect to Pop and best wishes to Craig Sager.

Glad Pop had some great words to say about Sagar to his son who was filling in for him. I'll miss his outlandish suits this playoffs.

Sager is awesome, very unique sense of style but asks the best questions.

I think it was even better that Pop wrote him a handwritten letter.

He seems to have a great attitude, but hope and pray for the best.

If Sager somehow comes back, would Pop actually give 30-40 word answers to 2-3 questions during a between-quarters interview?

No? Pop can be an asshole but not that much.

Sager Jr tweeted after the game Pop handed him a hand-written note to give to his Dad.

"Pop saying he wanted me back and then promising to be nice? I was like, Oh, my God, that's unbelievable, what an honor," said Sager, whose exchanges with the curt Popovich have become a much-anticipated part of TNT's NBA telecasts. "But then I started thinking about it: If I come back and Pop starts being nice to me, it just wouldn't be right. I want him to go Serbian [Popovich was born to a Serbian father] on me."

I'd have thought he'd wear god-awful suits even in a hospital bed.
