Pre-season polls are meaningless.

Well, they should be. But ask last year's undefeated Auburn team if they are meaningless.

Yes, they are. The O line is getting all jumbled up again, and there are serious questions about the defensive secondary.

They will have to earn a ranked position through their play to show that these factors are not issues.

^I was just messing around, although I do think the ranking for a&m is a bit high. I could see them in the 20-25 range, but not as high as they are. Also, there is no doubt Texas is ranked too high as well. I was hoping for a rank somewhere around 8-9, I think that would have been more accurate. Oh well, rankings at this point don't amount to a hill of beans.

preseason polls are actually really important now
the only reason last years question was between auburn and ok was because usc had kept their high ranking by not losing, if youre ranked preseason 25th and you go undefeated you might climb to last place among the undefeated, if youre preseason 2 and you keep winning it should be hard to not play for the nc, as long as youre undefeated

I think it was a fair ranking.

Personally pre-season rankings are nice....but mean absolutely zero.

It's definitely a crazy world, after all tu is ranked #2. The day they actually figure out how to not crawl up in the fetal position for the Red River Shootout is the day that they actually deserve a ranking higher than Blow U.

Like Texas is a bunch of scrubs for getting beat by Oklahoma. How many games total has Oklahoma lost in the last 5 years. Last year they allowed 6 points in the first 95% of the game. On touchdown in the fourth quarter and momentum might have taken UT to victory. It'll happen eventually, and the more motherfuckers talk about, the bigger a deal it becomes.

Yeah, Auburn pretty much got fucked.

IMHO, polls shouldn't be taken until the conference season starts.

Then how do you rank KState for playing Southeastern Kansas Chiropractic College?

(or A&M playing the Texas State Armadillos? :lol)

I think OU is going to take a mjor step down after getting their asses kicked by USC. I don't think there going to be a contender for a while considering UT is only getting better.

so are you admitting a&m is playing the easiest opponent in the history of their scheduling in a year when theyre ranked "17"

I hope to God you're right. I have had ongoing nightmares about ou for the last 5 years. I can honestly say at this precise moment that I'm already extremely worried about the Texas/ou game, I don't know what the hell I'll do if we lose a 6th straight.

It will be up to you to kidnap Bob Stoops. While you're at it, kick Barry Switzer in the nuts.

^ He's in our head Bonfire, it's like we come out of that tunnel at the Cotton Bowl and we've already given ou the mental edge. Now, I know there is the law of averages thing, statistically speaking we're due for a win over ou (kind of like a&m is due for a win over Texas), and with their lack of returning starters on the O line, QB, WR, D line, etc., we should be able to finally win this season. This game has just turned into so much of a mind fuck that I'm completely nervous about it and have been since the second the Spurs season ended. I know they're beatable, I've seen you guys do it, OSU a couple of times, Nebraska and you can't forget the beat down USC put on them. I just hope we (I'm mainly speaking to Greg Davis) can finally get a W this year.

Just saying '55-19' to an OU fan is like holding up a mirror or a cross to a vampire. God I can't wait....I think I anticipate college football with more excitement now than I did Christmas as a little kid.

College Football. It's hands down the greatest of all the sports. The hatred and rivalry is unmatched. Everything else pales in comparison.

I agree 100% with that and its too bad they waste it away with controversies with the way the NCAA selects Champions.

The NCAA is too busy changing the Seminoles name to actually do what really needs to be done.
