The San Antonio Spurs have announced that the NBA franchise will launch this week its new advertising campaign based on the theme "It's Game Time."

The campaign, created by San Antonio-based Creative Civilization, will incorporate images of fans showing their Spurs colors all across the city.

"We wanted to focus on the strength of our market, which is our fans," says Bruce Guthrie, vice president of marketing for Spurs Sports & Entertainment.

The campaign will include television spots featuring images of Alamo City neighborhoods, restaurants and businesses displaying pride for the Silver & Black.

The spots will conclude with an image of the city lights metamorphosing into a dramatic image of the Spurs logo.

"The spots depict a city blanketed with Spurs images," says Creative Civilization President Gisela Aguilar. "From Spurs graphics on pick-up trucks and the Tower of Americas, to signage on downtown buildings ... the spots are set to this powerful percussive pace, all in black and white. You see the story boards come to life."

In addition to the two, 30-second television spots running on all San Antonio networks, there will be additional print and outdoor advertising to accompany the campaign during the season.

MatchFrame designed the animation and graphics for the spots. The soundtrack was created by New Age.
