Preferred combinations:

Parker Green Kawhi Bonner Duncan
Parker Green Kawhi Bonner Splitter
Parker Manu Green Kawhi Duncan
Parker Manu Green Kawhi Splitter
Mills Manu Kawhi Bonner Splitter
Mills Manu Green Kawhi Splitter
Mills Manu Green Boris Splitter

9 man rotation of Parker, Mills, Manu, Green, Kawhi, Diaw, Duncan, Splitter, Bonner.

Cut Marco out of this series. We need a lot more playing time for Danny Green. Manu's extra 10-15 minutes can't be coming from Danny Green. It has to come from Marco.

Offensively, much more Manu - Splitter P&R with Bonner, Green, Kawhi, Mills to space. Play Duncan less minutes, but feed the post when he's in the game. This is the best counter to the defensive switching strategies of the Mavs.

Defensively, the Parker / Duncan P&R defence combo has been killing us. We need Green / Splitter playing the P&R as much as possible. Green must guard Ellis / Calderon. Let gassed Parker guard Marion in the corner. If Marion thinks he can drop 40 on us posting Parker up, so be it. Don't help the post. Marion posting with Dirk and Dalembert in the game just hurts the Mavs spacing even more.

Pray for a fair call of the game unlike today.

The game was called fairly overall. There were a couple of bullshit calls both ways which basically balance out. This is as close to a fairly called game that you'll get.

I still can't believe they can't get separation from a team with 37 year old Sean marion, 37 YO Vince Carter, and 35 YO dirk out there. What a joke this series has been so far.

What a horrible time to go into a funk. Against a very flawed team like the Mavericks. This series should have gone 4-1 Spurs and now its a dogfight because SA could not get invested sufficiently in a second home game.

The only good news is that Dallas is very beatable at home.

I'll call it here.....Spurs lose game 4 and then rip the cold black heart out of the Mavericks in 7 games. While that would not bode well for the Spurs as far as a long run in the playoffs, it would be an appropriate end to this messed up series.

On balance, the Mavericks are actually older than the Spurs overall. The Spurs are screwing this up big time.

Get someone to actually play D on Monta. I know Dallas has missed practically zero jump shots all series, but you can't let that guy drive and get all his points in the paint. Make them all jump shooters and hope they go cold sometime.

Did you watch any of the 2013-2014 NBA season prior to April 19th? If you did, you would understand what I'm saying.

SA is playing horrible basketball right now and yet it took a Carter hippity hop three pointer to put SA down 1-2.

FWIW, you follow the most flawed team in the NBA right now.....Do you disagree? LOL

The Spurs scored over 100. It's not about offense. It's about containing guys like Monta.

For the record - I wanted Monta Ellis in the off season. Look up my posts. I think he would have been a dynamic player for us, but most of the posters here wanted nothing to do with him. I wanted another creator, would have preferred him over Kirilenko. I thought he would be good on a winning team.

It's too bad the Spurs went for more one dimensional role players who can disappear in the playoffs. They will never fucking learn.

I agree with this. Green will give us some defense off the bench if anything. It just isn't a good series for him, even defensively he has not been impressive. So if he's not guarding someone at an elite level, at least Manu will make them work on the other end and possibly draw fouls.

Starting Manu likely means he'll either be matched up with Calderon or Ellis. If it's Ellis, that leaves Kawhi 1 on 1 with Calderon. (assuming Marion stays on TP)

What game were you watching? Incredible we stayed in it. Then they fucked us with the clock on the last play... No way they had 1.7 to play.

-Exploit Kawhi-Monta mismatch down low.
-Have Parker shoot every time they go under a screen.
-Give Patty the freedom to create his own offense when he comes off the bench.

True that the Spurs are scoring fine, but Green is only a threat behind the arc and has little playmaking ability making him an easy cover for the Mavs. It is much harder for Dallas to switch pick and rolls if the Spurs have multiple players who are a slashing threat. Dallas runs a capable offense and score fine with or without Green playing. I don't think the Spurs will lose too much by giving Manu the start.

Green got pulled by Pop the next time we had the ball after he came down in the first quarter and shot a three pointer with about 20 seconds left on the shot clock and no spurs in position to rebound. I noticed it at the time and figured it was punishment.

I am not in favor of Manu starting in place of Green because I believe, like others have mentioned, that Tony and Manu on the floor at the same time leads to inefficiencies in both the first and second units. But we need one or the other of them on the floor at ALL times…none of this "Mills, Green,Diaw,Bellinelli and ______(fill in Splitter, Ayres or Bonner).

Having rested all of our starters more than any starters in the league for the entire season, if Pop is not willing to allow them to play at least three quarters each ( minimum of 36 minutes per) at this point, then they forfeited their chances at career stat padding for nothing.

I still believe that we will win this series.

Remember that this is how good all the Western conference teams are.

The only adjustments I'd like to see is mix up the coverage on Ellis, shorter leash on Mills/Beli, more time for Green...

I don't think Manu should start yet. But the Spurs are getting killed in the 2nd quarter and that needs to be fixed somehow.

Manu was up to 33 minutes last game, tbh. Timmy 36, Kawhi 38. Tony, 33, but Pop kind of benched him down the stretch.

I agree that this series will still be won by the Spurs, tbh, though I'm worried about round #2.

More offense on Calderon and Monta.

More post-up plays for Kawhi.

Less Danny Green, more Manu.

I'd run a screen n roll or two for Green/Splitter early as well tbh. It involves their two worst defenders and it had its moments during the regular season

Probably not a bad idea for our elders to just get some rest for tomorrow. No need to run them into the ground with more practice, tbh. Manu played 33 minutes and Timmy played 36, Kawhi 38, etc., tbh........
