I was looking @ some old threads and I came across this one

So who rides?

What do you have?

Way back when I had a Kawasaki 450 then went to a Suzuki 550 then a Yamaha 700

I haven't ridden in about in about 5 years ever since that old lady pulled out in front of me and totaled my bike.

I would love to get a Harley but I can't afford them

I'm looking at this one but, still just looking

My patient Russ Welch hasd the Harley dealership here and I am thinking of getting this bike. the VRSCD Night Rod. I love it.

It's so dangerous. Getting a motorcycle definitely isn't worth it.

Depends where you ride - if you can get away from traffic and avoid the deer at night, I'd bet motorcycles are relatively safe.

A co-worker of mine just got back from being hospitalized with 2 crushed legs from a motorcycle accident. The accident wasn't his fault and it was not a high-speed accident.

Your wife might actually be on to something. :)

Riding those things on the freeway scares the shit out of me. But then again, so did Jeepers Creepers.

I had several racing motocross bikes back in the day. Ended up with a 400cc bad boy. Damn near killed myself on it. I came off about a 60' jump and landed hard...was fighting the forks holding them straight and my right rotator cuff blew out. The forks slammed to right lock and I flipped on the front wheel...next thing I knew I was still on the bike about 10' off the ground, upside down, going 70+ backwards... :depressed

When you have people close to you die in a motorcycle accident, then I guess you are more against it.

I've lost 3 ... and several others hurt. I just don't see how someone could take the risk.

I don't ride a motorcycle but if I did, it wouldn't be anything but a Harley. Screw those "rice burners," as my Dad calls them.

My friend has a motorcyle and he took me on it. I was on the bike and he did a wheelie, I thought we were gonna fall back. My heart was racing haha and when he would turn it feels like your going to fall down, crazy shit.

I think it all depends on the person driving the cycle.

My biggest fear is that people driving *regular* cars don't see them as well and end up causing the accidents more than the riders do. You can't control other people doing stupid shit on the road, but at least in a regular car you've got a better shot at getting out alive....

Just my opinion. :)

I don't know about in TX (and I think we discussed this before), but in CA motorcycles are allowed to drive between the lanes. I HATE that because you can be changing lanes (especially in traffic) and not see them.

I think it all depends on the person driving the cycle. If u have training and shit, u will be better off compared to like JayWill who didnt know what the fuck he was doing. The thing that sucks is if u crash, u are gonna die 95% of the time. Im never gonna do it. Sorry guys.. :lol

Guess I am a 5%er. Layed down at 45MPH with no helmet. Road rash on arm, leg and back. Able to keep my head off the concrete but I slid for what seemed forever. If I didnt lay the bike down, I would have nailed a pickup who decided to turn into me in Bangkok. I'm sure its because they hate white-looking people. :fro

I'm not worried about me (and I never had a lesson or training or whathave you) I am worried about every motherfucker with a cell phone that isnt paying attention, every sororitute whore who is more interested in her makeup and radio than anything going on around her bigass tahoe or the hood rat who is leaned so far back in his peice of shit 82 cutlass he wants people to think is a caddy they cant see shit.

Anybody remember back in the 80s when all the motorcyclists were pissed off and protesting the new "Mandatory Helmet" laws?! :lol

Clandestino
08-11-2005, 08:14 AM
the law was repealed a few years ago...motorcyclist no longer have to wear helmets...

Clandestino
08-11-2005, 08:15 AM
but yeah, the biggest danger is assholes who 1. don't give a fuck because you are a bike or 2. just don't see you.
