TBH? DeJaun finally won that game for us when his true self took over with that dumbass kick move. :lmao

We are playing awful.

Its just a matter of time if this crap continues.
Crappy game, big win. So many aspects of our game have to change.
I feel relieved but with no faith in our prospects to get back into the finals.

Lol Kenny just said it shouldn't have been an ejection because his kick was his "mannerisms" and Splitter just happened to "be there". Riiight... Sorry for having a cranium Tiago.

Mavs got overaggressive/Spurs got lots of calls down the stretch, though I'd argue that the Mavs got more calls overall.

We were lucky that mental midget got himself ejected. Impossible to tell what would have happened, but it's undeniable that changed the tone of the game.

I think Spurs are just in a funk right now. Hopefully this series is a wakeup call to play better.

Been preaching it since 2007... but we need somebody to go out there and commit a hard flagrant foul and get suspended to show their toughness... preferably Jeff Ayers.

Boris was the man this game.

We need Patty, Green, Marco, to start playing. And Parker to... what the hell is wrong?

Boris and Manu

Manu has been active practically every game. Not Boris.
Manu is a given.

lol ESPN with the goods:

"In seasons the Spurs have won NBA Titles, they are 4-0 when trailing a series at any moment in the playoffs... "

Seriously?

Dallas, oddly enough, missed 10 FTs. Spurs missed 6. Spurs won by 4.
It would have been a shame if the Spurs had outshot Dallas 46% to 38% from the field and lost the game.

I only watched the second half, but it seemed like the Spurs were playing great until maybe halfway through the third, and then Dallas turned up the heat on D and the Spurs started bricking. Ginobili and Diaw were the difference makers late, a sentence I never thought I'd ever write, and the Spurs made the plays they had to to win - just like in Game 3, but without any heroics from Carter. They've been figuring out the Mavs little by little this series, and at times have pushed Dallas back into looking like the mediocre team they appeared to be during that lengthy Spurs winning streak over them. Hopefully this win ignites the spark that carries them in Game 5, and then if the Spurs take that and win Game 6 on the road it'll feel like they never trailed at all.

Patty hit a couple of shots tonight that made me feel like he's very slowly coming out of his slump on offense. I could be wrong, but it just feels like maybe he'll be a force off the bench again if the Spurs can sidestep the Mavs.

To OP's original question, btw, is that the bench erupted for 50 points tonight after sucking horribly in the first 3 games.

Remember the days when Dallas consistently shot like 98% from the line against us?

Both teams shot like crap last night, but the Mavs were the bigger anomaly....Dirk missing is always a surprise, and Dalembert, a career 71% FT shooter, went like 1-6.

Stats are the vitals of the game. Just wanting to stay alive is fine, but that depends greatly upon your vitals. Saying they don't mean anything is naive.

Against scrubs in LA, struggled against Golden State and swept a Memphis squad that was surprised to be there. Needed the bench players to play like all stars in order to get there, and to get 7 games in the Finals needed Danny Green to set a Finals 3pt record because two of your big 3 didn't really show up.

Because last year Danny Green was insanely hot almost hitting 3's from half court. Someone posted earlier that Danny Green usually single handily destroys Dallas.

Yeah, and now Green thinks he can dribble before taking shots despite the fact I've never seen him make one of those. :lol

Green just has to be in the Bowen shot corner to be effective, tbh.

Controlling most of the game and playing in front surely helps. Hitting them freethrows sealed the deal.

The Mavs would never have made their "miraculous comeback" if not for a plethora of ludicrous trips to the FT line.

Like I said earlier, I never want to see Green try to do that EVER again in a close game, never AGAIN.
