I'm excited to say I have finally made the move to San Antonio. The shit is unloaded and unpacking is being done. I am now searching for work. I honestly don't think anyone cares but I'm excited so I thought I'd share it with the bunch.

I moved from Corpus. This is the biggest city I've ever lived in so the traffic will take some getting used to.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I will go to Chachos eat the 'chos and drink the margarita. There is no way I would rather be in Corpus than here. I will always have love for Corpus and the area since I was born and grew up there, but it's too humid, and nothing much to do there.

Hey midgetonadonkey, now that you're in SA did you know if you take 35 about an hour up the road to Buda, Texas, you can enter Guido Dog in the Annual Buda Weiner Dog Races?

This year 435 dogs entered and 25,000 people attended. One of the funniest things I've ever seen, and actually a great event to take young kids to.

Have you driven any freeways so far on the northside? I asked because you said you're not used to this kind of traffic. Southside traffic isn't too bad besides 35 south of Downtown and 90 going west. All freeways on the northside are freakin' hell come rush hour.

Sorry I missed that one. I went up to UTSA for an interview Monday morning but it was around 9am so I think I avoided any rush hour traffic. I have to be up there again tomorrow at 9am so I might hit something wicked. In Corpus, I had a 5 minute commute to work along Ocean Drive at sunrise, so it will be a huge adjustment for me.

I'll have to keep my eye out for that but I still say nothing is sweeter than seeing the sunrise over Corpus Christi Bay. The water is as smooth as a sheet of ice and you can't tell the horizon from the water. The only thing that seperates them is a thin line of sunshine, as if God cut the sky with a razor and let the rays of sunlight through.

How do you not see the northwest interchange if you went to UTSA?

Was it the Main campus at 1604 or the downtown location?

If it was the 1604 location, what freeways did you take?

It was the 1604 location, but I was too freaked out about the traffic that I didn't look at anything. Remeber, I'm going from shitty little small town traffic to "big city" traffic. I was kind of nervous. Tomorrow on my way back I'll check out the view.

Midget, whenever you get the chance, go downtown and on Commerce St. there is a place called Jerry's Dogs. Trust me, get you some. The guy who owns the place moved to SA from Chicago in 1997 and opened up the place in 2002. He makes everything himself and when making his hot dogs (get the Chicago dog) he uses authentic breads and Vienna sausages that are Chicago famed.

The place is really small width wise but it’s very narrow but most of it is kitchen/prep area. You can walk in and order what you want and wait, usually a while because he’s always making “call in” orders. Or you can, call in and then go pick it up.

Trust me, best hot dog you’ll ever eat.
