In reality a business owner made a comment that indicated he was a racist, but he did so in the privacy of his home (or where ever it was said, it was private). NPR was talking about this this morning and said that any punishment would have to be decided by the league's constitution, which is not a public document and that, though no one knows for sure what it says, that reportedly the only violation for which the league can take away a team (or force to sell) is for gambling.
