I went into meltdown mode when we were down one at one point in the 4th Q, I was calling them chokers since 08 and on and on! Manu missing that Ft did not nearly make me go to that point but when I saw us up only two I said here comes the damn THREE to win it again for two games in a row! I could see that happening.

That is just enough to haunt you for a lifetime of bball :( I can relate.

I really thought about shutting the TV down, but the timeout was very short and everything was over before I could make up my mind.

In the next Dallas possesion there was a switch and he ended up with Dirk, for a moment it looked like he was going to leave him all alone on 3pt territory to go triple team Ellis. THAT would have caused some meltdowns, tbh.

oddly I wasn't. I blew a gasket when Carter hit that 3 the other day. I was feeling chest pains throughout the day, though some of that was drinking caffeine during the game. That shit brought back so many bad memories from last summer.
I was strangely more at peace with this one. When Manu missed it, I just figured maybe we don't deserve to win. And if Manu can pull through and Spurs play with more purpose, maybe we are meant to win.

Tbh what happens to Manu and Leonards free throws in the playoffs
both are 80%+ shooters who fall to the 50s in the playoffs

pretty much this!
Funnily I think it made me stronger/cooler as an actual baller. This season I was Mister Clutch (not only making important shots, but shooting 100% on a lot (A LOT!!) of stop the clock FT's.
Thinking about it, it may be something like: "WTF can happen...if Spurs' life goes on after those Finals, probably this whole thing isn't that important...its just a game and there is no reason to be rattled by this situation."

Hahahaha truth Nono. Funny shit tbh. Im not guiltless I admit. I heard so many moans during those last free throw attempts. And i heard just as many fools calling out Kawhi and Pop. I also talked shit about dejuan with reckless abandon.
Whats funny is I missed gary neal more than ever. hes a defenseless chucker... a fearless, clutch, lucky and Pop proof one. Only motherfucker since ...?... who wouldnt even flinch when Pop would assign him back up pg. After his third crazy teardrop vs Miami rained in earlier tonight, i couldnt help but wish he was still draggin his beanbag loveseat sized nuts onto the court for the silver and black. I still remember the stunned faces in the crowd when he trotted back to the bench without even a smile against Memphis in game 5 2011.

Is it possible to meltdown while having a calm demeanor? When the Spurs choked away that 20pt lead, it honestly didn't bother me all too much. The experience of 6 made me immune to taking sports so seriously...
....But that didn't stop me from shit-talking a storm/laughing at how much we sucked.

Ditto, flashback of game 6 Heat series. thankfully the Mavs didn't hit some BS shot at the end of the game like last time. I think the Mavs luck in this series has been exhausted.

If it had been tony this place would have exploded. Especially after the game he had

Yeah...I don't know how the Mavs' last shot didn't go in...sometimes the luck swings the other way, I guess. That's why you can't get too upset when you lose in a fluke manner...shit happens, deal with it and move on.

6 definitely thickened some hides around here. I know it did for me. There is no way I could ever possibly suffer a bigger deflation in sports than that night.
When Carter hit his shot the other day, I simply turned off the TV, dropped the remote on the couch, turned around, and went to go finish dinner. Not worth ruining a perfectly good Saturday afternoon over.

I was cursing like a sailor in both English and Chinese when that happens, and talk about that what caused our 5th ring last year. Later when foul happens at exactly 1.7 second I was like where the Fu*k is Carter, please send the biggest guy we have to cover him........... then we won I was jumping and calling all my fellow spurs fans talk about how close we were to crap in our pants.

I no longer trust Manu in important games after he threw the Finals, so I completely expected the missed FT tbh.

Delambert: 1 of 6 :lmao

I actually expect almost every Spur to miss crunch time freebies right now... I would have to look, but I think our FT% in this series is pretty bad... maddening, tbh, since we're also missing stupid layups like crazy.

I have a feeling this is how Horry felt and I got that in one of this interviews after game 5, he said alot people take the game so serious and they forget it is a game and having fun out there, something of that light. He is right though and you could tell it in his play and body language late in games.

As sad as that is it is still probably not nearly as bad as the Grizz Ft's late in games (Which cost them a game easily).

I was very very close, then as you said it was fast so I in the process said let me just hang around and see just in case? I was going down with the sinking ship or celebrating a game that had all the signs of a Spurs playoff game where they get a huge lead and blow it and right the ship at the end, either or was going to happen and I was going to see it. If we lost I would have said series over and turned the channel probably to watch something else, luckily they extended the series.

We were actually really good at FT shooting in the regular season...4th in the league at 78.5%. But you're right about our FT% this series...we're shooting 72.2%, which would've been 3rd worst in the league during the regular season.
Regardless, even during the regular season I never felt confident when it came to late-game FTs. I just feel like our team has a penchant for choking near the end of games when it comes to FT shooting. Hopefully it doesn't cost us down the stretch in the playoffs...

I'm not sure what happens to Kawhi in the playoffs. He goes from an 80% FT shooter in the regular season to a 50%-something free throw shooter in the playoffs. He's shooting 57% from the stripe in this series and I think he was in the 50s or 60s during last year's playoffs. :cry
Yes, he shot 63% from the charity stripe in last year's playoffs, tbh.

Our guys last night froze and looked terrified at times sides Diaw, he literally saved us! I didn't like the look on some of those guys faces when we gave up the big lead, they looked flat out terrified out there. I miss guys like Horry and Barry.
