Don't think it's really warranted, but I guess they have to stick to precedent.

Still, :lmao at WhataBlair. I guess we will have to wait for Game 6 to see his dominating return.

Blairs actions did not equate to Jason Terry's in 2006 - you know - the nut punch. It was bush league, but not to that extent.

The good news is SAS only has to win 2 of 3 as opposed to 3 of 3 back then.

After McRoberts got virtually no significant penalty for headhunting Lebron, this decision is absurd.

He's a dumbass! He knew exactly what he was doing! Glad, this jackass got suspended! I didn't dislike him until the hard foul on Manu in Game 2 and then kicking Splitter in the head just finished him off for me!

Yeah, he had a nice little run last night. He still sucks and it is better for the Spurs if he is out there.

Bill_Brasky

Weird. Looking at it in real time Tiago falls on Blair's legs and the kick seems like more of a reflex than an intentional deliberate kick. Sucks for dejuan but fuck it, he wasn't gonna have another game like that anyway.

Shouldn't be suspended, tbh.

I'm disappointed - Blair had his moment in game 4 and I was hoping it would blind Carlisle to his weaknesses and make him play more minutes, which 90% of the time will be a plus for the Spurs.

04-29-2014, 08:17 PM
I don't think Blair was actually looking at Tiago when he connected. He reared his head back and kicked out of frustration.

Interesting similarity (suspension) to 2005 PHX series. Different action but that series was close and PHX had the momentum.

Fat scrub had the game of his life. It's not like Dirk or Monta got suspended. This will have zero impact on Game 5.

Staplepuffs27
04-29-2014, 08:28 PM
Here's the thing though. It doesn't really matter if he meant to kick him or not. Just like with fouls, you can foul someone without meaning to foul them. This is just teaching him a lesson for letting the frustration getting the best of him. Blair. Fucked. Up.

Of course he knew Tiago was there. Tiago was temporarily laying on his leg. It's my perception that Blair was frustrated (at the foul call) & amped. A motion as if to say, get off me. I don't think he aimed for the head & I don't think you know whether I believe the ejection or suspension were warranted, now do you?

If Blair stays in game 4 WE LOSE.

It was a serious blowout before Blair took over.

After McRoberts got virtually no significant penalty for headhunting Lebron, this decision is absurd.

Did you watch that play. Lebron was going up and GOT PUSHED in the back in to McRoberts. I believe McRoberts was going to wrap Lebron up by the chest to prevent him from getting the shot off like he said. But he didn't expect his teammate to push Lebron in to him. Watch the replay again. Its clear as day that most of the force of the contact came from Lebron being pushed from behind.

Blair OTH, just kicked out and hit Tiago in the head. Based on the league rules, that is grounds for suspension. It was a non basketball play as well.

You know it's not true. Bowen may have been dirty, but never pulled a Rodmanesque stunt, kicking or punching someone in the HEAD, outright, after a dead ball. He may have kicked someone's legs off of him in a scrum. He may have given a "kick to the face" during game action while flying out wildly to block a shot (plausible deniability). However, you can't cite an example of a similar kick to the head after a pile up; that is why you will not cite an example. Bowen usually operated under the guise of plausible deniability, during game action. He never kicked anyone in the HEAD, after a play while on the floor after a scrum. And, what makes your example worse, is that Bowen WAS suspended, in my opinion for a far less aggressive action. Definitely not a strike to the head during a scrum.

While the head-butt on Lebron may have deserved a punishment befitting the offense, throwing fist punches and kicks are well-codified in the rule-book. It is simply not allowed. The league takes striking seriously. They don't want more Rudy Tomjanovich or "Malice in the Palace". Every reasonable player knows this.

Blair knew this. It is why he "pulled his punch" (kick), but he was too late.

I am amazed at the people saying that it was "inadvertent". I can only imagine that they are trying to be forgiving, consciously or subconsciously, as he didn't deal a hard blow, but the kick was obviously thrown with intent. You pull your SINGLE leg out with force as a reaction. You kick back with both feet as an aggression.

OJ is still looking for the REAL Killers.

No he definitely did. Think 2008 playoff series against New Orleans. He gave Chris Paul a little kick in the head during a scuffle. I don't remember which game but I remember the incident pretty clearly.
