View Full Version : NBA: Who is the NBA rooting for to come out of the West: Clippers or Thunder?

The NBA will probably make a lot of money with the Clippers and Thunder playing each other in the 2nd round. I have a scary feeling that the winner of this series is going to win the Western Conference. I'm just thinking that the NBA wants a rematch of Durant and Lebron or wants the Clippers to overcome adversity and beat the Heat in the Finals as some type of fuck you to racism. I don't think the Blazers, Spurs, or the Mavs could beat the Clippers or Thunder because of the refs and the NBA's push for a cute matchup for casual douchebag fans.

The answer is always the Thunderefs, let's be real now.... we can't even get calls on our homecourt, as evidenced tonight :lol

The Clippers are media darlings right now..and even then I don't know if that'll be enough to deal with the Thunder..

Thunder, easily. They're my pick to win the Finals this year. The Tribe will work some wonders to make it happen, but no way they let OKC turn into another Cleveland.

Fact is neither Thunder nor Monkeyball would win the West, unless the Spurs got upset tomorrow.

The NBA would much rather have Durant and Lebron in the Finals than the boring old Spurs from San Antonio against the Heat again.
Durant and Lebron II would make NBA tons of money.

Thunderefs tbh. It'll be a 2012 rematch with the Heat winning a Game 7 in Methland.

Flop City should aim high and finally get that first 2nd round win in franchise history. That would probably feel like a ring to them.

Based on all of the Sterling crap, the NBA clearly wants the Clippers as a way to say F U to racism, obviously

Truth, my nigga Jacob. Can't underestimate the league's power to rig games, otherwise who the hell would believe these mavs could drag us spurs to game 7?

Thunder. Last thing the league wants to do is help the Clippers increase it's already sky high franchise value. Reaching the Finals only gives Sterling more reason to keep fighting for his ownership :lol

League was helping the Warriors win last night by calling all kinds of BS calls one after another, unfortunately Jackson can't coach for shit lol.

This.

Blake was in foul trouble against the WARRIORS, so you know he won't even see the floor against OKC.

Tbh, if the league was going to rig anything for us over that, they could have started by at least giving us calls on our home court in Game 7 if not handing us Game 6 :lol

I'm amused that the idea that the league would ever rig anything for us, because anyone who watches the games can see we rarely get full-out Thunderef/Rocketref/Lakeref treatment :lol

The NBA would probably be OK with any of these 4 teams coming out of the West. In order of their favorite, I would guess LA, OKC, SA, and Portland. LA or NY are always going to be the favorites as they are the two largest markets. More people watching equals bigger TV deal. OKC is an easy sell because Durant vs Lebron. A rematch of last year's Finals is also an easy sell. Portland would be the hardest sell, but they have young stars in Lillard and Aldridge who are marketable.

I'm not saying the league will rig anything but the Clippers winning the title this year would make a fuckton more ancillary revenue than anyone else considering what's gone on the last week.

OKC.

One incident cannot compare to the history of bias that has been given to the Thunder in the Durant/Westchimp era.

Sybok

It's going to be the Thunder because, although you can hedge and double Curry and force others to shoot, there's only one person on the Clippers who can block Durant and that's only at the rim. Durant can simply go off from outside. The caveat is that Russell has to allow it by not heaving up 30 shots.

My fuck u to the nba would be their worst possible matchup and I would laugh my ass off if this were to happen. Spurs vs Pacers. Lol

Jacob1983

I think Portland and the Pacers or Wizards would be worse than the Spurs and Pacers in the Finals.

I really think the NBA is pushing hard for Durant and Lebron II. They see it as the new Bird vs. Magic.

The Clips might be a temporary darling team because of the Sterling thing, but lets be real, they want KD-LeBron to happen.
