Good point. I mentioned Batum last time I made a comment about the Blazers, but should have included him here too.

Blazers are loaded with Spur killers unfortunately. They have a lot of "bad shot makers" and good mid range chuckers.

Devin Harris was one of the worst rotation players in the NBA this season, tbh. The Spurs made him look like he was 8 years younger.

Williams has a penchant for torching the Spurs because he excels in the areas the Spurs generally force teams to shoot from, odd angle mid-range attempts.

Only in the regular season though... we already played him in the playoffs, and he choked like he's been choking his entire playoffs career...

He had a great steal and clutch shot in the 1st round against Houston, but otherwise, he's back to posting diminished numbers compared to the RS...

Devin Harris shooting was bullshit, but Devin also was once tried out as a franchise player (in NJ nonetheless) and even managed to average over 20 ppg in a season.

Mo hasn't even been healthy enough to be anything more than a energy guy off the bench. Anything can happen, but I hope his choking streak continues, tbh

Mo is a much better 3 point shooter though, so I guess sometimes better be lucky than good.

FWIW, I love to be finally out of that Dallas series too... that can't be overstated enough... even fucking Jae Crawer (or whatever his name is) was hitting last second 3 pointers... even contested.

They shit on everyone. Theyre all stars and top five players at their positions.

That's obvious, but the problem is we almost never even contain them like we do with most other "top 5s". They just go off every time, and they're certainly not doing that to the rest of the league every time. It's something to be concerned with.

Of course it isn't like we're drawing up defensive strategies for our Spurs, but they're going to be huge problems.

same here. trolls downstairs were making fun of Spursfan for being happy to be past an 8th seed, but I don't give a shit, that was a trap series from hell. Same people saying it was no big deal would've shat on this board endlessly had the Spurs lost. Mavs were hitting like every fluke shot imaginable. It's a good thing the Spurs got exposed to it now and survived it.

Theyll be problems. Aldridge most likely will have high numbers.

Again, I'm failing to see your point. Theyll put Green on Lillard, possibly Leonard and Parker and switch it up ALA Dirk to throw different looks.

I think if you make Lillard a one on one PG and force him to handle the ball and not let them move it.

Perimiter defense will be key in this series. No open looks for Matthews or Batum or Lillard. Contest and stay at home. Force one on one matchups.

This should be a really tough series. Mo has lots of history with having the Spurs' number. At least Andre Miller moved to the Eastern Conference. Hopefully, the Mavs prepared the Spurs for what they'll see from the perimeter vs Portland.

Mo has been a Spur killer...... in the regular season. You go back a couple seasons ago when he was with LAC, in the reg season he killed us I think he had like a 40 point game or something like that, but in the playoffs he didn't do anything. The only difference is that this season he has a bigger role with the blazers than he did with the clips.

There's no way Mo is brought back after he opts out, right? There's too many actual good free agent point guards out there this summer.

It's true, instead we have this homeless looking scrub Barton going Reggie Jackson on our bench unit. Can't see that happening if he is playing minutes that actually matter though.
