Lol...that fool knows how to box out tbqh. Spurs better bring their A game against him. Challenge him early, get him in foul trouble, and he'll end up right where he is in that gif.

The best part about the Blazers playing Lopez is that it allows Duncan to stay on the floor. Duncan would get torched against a smallball lineup with Aldridge as the only big.

We are gonna need all the bigs this series.Pop can't just play TD, Splitter and Diaw 40+ mpgm or they'll get worn out.

If he just played all three of them, they'd average 32mpg (provided there's no overtime). It's not really a big deal. But Portland may also go small with Wright or Batum at the four, which means Leonard or Green may get time at PF. Between small-ball and the top three bigs, all the C and PF minutes should be spoken for.

Timmy usually guards Lopez since he is slower than Aldridge.

These non-black energetic blue collar bigs don't seem to make nearly as many mental mistakes or get goaded into a technical or suspension.

Robin Lopez was fucking useless in Phoenix.

But he somehow woke up in Portland and is playing well.

Duncan shouldn't have any issue staying on the court when Lopez is out there. Doubt he'll struggle as much as he did at times against Dallas; despite the Mavs' putrid frontline, Dalambert has given Duncan fits his entire career.

Mo and lopez played pretty damn solid vs the rockets so when he does spurs fans cant really complain that they only play well vs the spurs :lol

That robinlopez.gif will never get old.

He actually has a little more skill than you realise, Spurs will have to keep him off the offensive glass.

You know, for those that say Lopez will give Duncan's fit, the same was said about Zbo last year. And I'll be honest, I though Pop was going to put Splitter on Zach. But he went with Duncan and Duncan shut him down. Duncan certainly rose to the challenge. One thing I learned, never underestimate Duncan. He has surprised me a lot over the years.

I think Duncan will be ready for this series.

He did foul like crazy in the first round, but a lot of that because of hack-a-Howard. He actually has a middle of the road fouls per 36 minutes, and pretty low for a big man (~300th in the league):

Well, Pop needs to get him in foul trouble early if possible...without Lopez, it's gonna be a Parker and Ginobili parade to the rim.

Exactly. Aldridge isn't a bad defender but isn't a rim protector and there's literally nothing behind Lopez. Go early to Tim in the post against him or run Splitter pick-and-rolls if Lopez is on him and try to get him reaching in.

He sucks on the pnr lol

Agreed. Set two or three screens and Robin Lopez will be standing near the 3 point line. He's good for individual 1 on 1 defense, but he'll have a ton of trouble getting back on defense. I expect TP to exploit this all series, if he's healthy.

If it is true that the spurs will have a parade to the rim if Lopez is not out there, then it stands to reason that we can have a parade to the rim if our bigs do a good pulling guard or blocking job for our guards, regardless of whether or not Lopez is out there.
