Feels a little like a ratings grab. I might give it a couple of episodes to see what they do with the story lines.

cant take this series serious, cause the main lead will always be remembered as the bastard child on OC

Not a bad start at all. We'll see how they develop the characters. I agree that they got young Gordon right. I never watched Southland, but I heard he was good in that as well.

The ratings are in for the FOX’s Batman-less “Gotham” series premiere, and it looks like the Caped Crusader wasn’t needed after all. According to The Futon Critic (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings/2014/09/23/mondays-broadcast-ratings-big-bang-theory-triumphs-over-voice-gotham-premieres-581405/broadcast_20140922/), the inaugural hour-long episode took in nearly 8 million viewers and a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49, a strong turnout for a show branded on Batman’s rogues gallery of villains and a pint-sized Bruce Wayne.

That turnout was no doubt aided by stellar reviews, with a 95% critical consensus onRotten Tomatoes (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/gotham/) and an 88% audience approval. With a charismatic lead in the form of Ben McKenzie as Det. James Gordon and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (a.k.a The Penguin), the prequel series will no doubt be keeping the streets clean of crime for quite awhile.

Solid pilot.

Was pretty stupid. Had CSI level writing, piggybacking on what are usually pretty strong characters and making them lame.

And Arkham City and Asylum too.

I dig

Watched the first two over the weekend and thought they were good. Decent cop show plots but with great characters and good actors. Looking forward to seeing more.

It is.

The back story is good, but dang... I keep expecting Batman to materialize and beat the crap out of someone who deserves it.

Is anyone else already tired of Gordon's woman? Seems like she's the only character that can't act for shit. Watching that exchange between him and her at the end of the episode was almost painful...like a real actor doing a scene with high school drama teacher.

I forgot all about this show, I was meaning to give it a shot. It should be On Demand, so I can binge watch several to catch up. Although I like knowing that there are 2 episodes or more waiting for me, especially when a few shows just ended for the season/permanently.

Show pretty cool. Stupid though that Fish and the Russian dude were discussing shit within ear shot of Falcone. Though, it didn't really matter as the ending cleared that shit up.

My oh my, Jada Pinkett Smith is a terrible actress. The show as a whole is not great, either, but at least somewhat entertaining. McKenzie and Donal Logue are both solid, in my opinion.
