Game 7 versus Dallas, Game 1 versus Portland, and now the first half of Game 2. I've never seen them play this good, ever. I've seen them play amazing, lights out. But in the past three games, every player is in freaking God mode. Unbelievable.

Spurs swept through 2 rounds and went up 2-0 vs. OKC. that was a pretty good stretch too, then they got backdoored.

This I exactly what popped to mind when I read the title.
2012 Spurs was the best I've ever seen, then RefGate happened.

I think this year's squad could give 07 a run for their money, tbh.

2007? Not a chance. That was the weakest of all the Spurs' championship teams.

I'm only saying it cause that was the last team to win a ring...this team is way better leaps and bounds
2005, that was the best Spurs team top to bottom there shall ever be.

Not even close. Games 3 & 4 vs Portland in the 99 WCF is the best I have ever seen the Spurs play.

On paper, but Duncan was on two bad ankles, which is why Detroit almost won the Finals.

This. Ginobili was unstoppable and that was the best he has ever played in his career.

Agreed...Im too young/mh memory too hazy to really dispute your 99 Blazers claim, but I clearly remember stretches particularly vs Phoenix, when that 05 team looked flawless. Of course one can argue that was a product of no defense, no Joe Johnson and SSOL, but its just how I feel.

Game 3 of the 99WCF the Spurs held Portland to something like 33-38 points in the Final 3 quarters in Portland. David Robinson just absolutely defied them to score that series.
EDIT: Just looked it up and DRob had 7 blocks that game

They're clicking for sure, but Portland is gawd awful defensively and the Spurs bench has been fueled by some home cooking. I expect them to come back down to earth in game 3.
As compared to recent years, I think the 10 game run in 2012 was more impressive tbqh. They looked unstoppable.

I thought about 2012 too, so way too early to say anything. But, the difference is now Kawhi is mature and much more of a factor, that makes this team different. However, with some dumb turnovers tonight, sad thing is this team can play better.

Shit, defensively, theres maybe only one or two teams who could even attempt being on par with the 99 spurs at their best..

The 2000's Spurs and Laker teams would lay waste to the 2014 NBA teams

Giving up 97 points isn't going to get it done defensively in Portland.

I thought the same thing. Spurs are better on D now than they were that year and rely less on threes though, but still you are correct.

This is the TRUTH, I said this before as well and it is the flat out truth.

That D was a thing of beauty! END of story.
What was it 12 wins in a row and 15-2 in the playoffs? That team was on a mission man.

Would the 2003-2007 Spurs teams own the NBA today? Take away stupid bullcrap 0.4 and Manu's foul, 5 straight championships with Duncan winning 4 FMVP's.
