Until you have half as many championships as Pop, you can keep the coaching advice to yourself tbh.

True..it's crazy how much his game is hindered by the big 3's usage, tbh..

Pop is an idiot. Playing Manu could of cost us the game. Good thing Kawhi came in to save the day.

I like that Pop is managing the minutes this series while Stotts overplays his players. Those guys are going to tire out, and that's why the Spurs pull away in the fourth. I was at a restaurant (in Eugene, got cussed at a lot with my Duncan jersey on), and I just kept saying, Spurs need to weather the storm and Portland will tire down and cool off.

Manu kept the blazers in the game

He hit the big three to pretty much end it after Kawhi hit his big three. Manu did bad, but I got a feeling Manu and Parker are going to go off in game 3.

A chunk of their run was with that gimmicky press. You can't maintain that for even one game, let alone over a series. To me, that was a white flag: "we can't beat you playing half court playoff basketball.".

PaulGarciaPS: “It’s Tony. They’re just trying to stop him, which frees up everything for the rest of us.” - Kawhi on what’s helping #Spurs offense.

No one is surprised, Pop did the same against OKC last RS game, he sat Leonard at start the 3rd quarter and the Thunder took +8 points lead...and that wasn't a good move.

:pop: he'll play 40 minutes a game in the playoffs

You know Pop, that's never gonna happen :lol

I know you're new to spurs basketball, but how long have been watching professional basketball?

The shit people say is baffling.

My post is full of truth. Manu led the Blazers comeback and Kawhi came in to hit some clutch shots to put the game away. What of that is not true?

Manu takes shots the other guys are scared to take. You need that leadership for the inexperienced players. Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't, but atleast the shot is getting off instead of 5 frantic passes from people to scared of the moment. Manu can drive me crazy with his horrible TO induced decision making in setting up the offense sometimes...but never with wanting to take a shot. If it's open, take it. That's what you gameplan for. An open shot.

Once again.. Some people have no concept of coaching. We have a 20 pt lead. Why would you give the other teams scouting footage to go off of. These people geet paid thousands and millions of dollars to disect scouting footage. The less you give them, the less prepared they are. That is why, even when we don't have great athletes, the spurs suprise the hell out of teams and put them in shock constantly. Pop is a great coach and definitely a great strategic mind.

Just like he kept belli out even though beli was doing good. Why the hell would you help prepare your oppnonent or next opponent more, when you can limit it. It's a luxury that he takes serious.

Coaches understand these concepts. Fans not so much. When you get paid to do something, you're usually seeng things differently than the average joe. Keep that in mind....Joe.

the comeback was inevitable

you dont score 140 points for a game in the POs, you gotta give credit to the spurs for keeping Portland contained somewhat and closing it out very well in the 4th

He made a transition 3 with 17 second on the clock Pop doesn't like it so he is bench till the Blazer make a come back.

If we get through this round he is going to have to play big minutes on KD maybe and then if we do make it play on Bron again.
So if we can give him rest in blow out games then why not I guess.

Exactly. Pop is just saving him. I am sorry, there is no reason to play Kawhi 44 minutes like Batum when you have a double digit lead for most of the game. The reason he was so effective in the 4th was b/c he was fresh while the Blazers were spent.

Kawhi has the possibility of guarding the league's MVPs the past two years in the next two rounds should the Spurs advance.

Got to rest him. He played all 82 games and averaged 40+ minutes during the season. Plus he's getting up there in age.
