Just look at Splitter 3 years ago, he was close to a joke, but he has matured into a very good all around big man considering his physically weak constitution compared to others.
NOW What happens we we develop Baynes, he's already a beast phtsically, he just need more experienced to lear all the technical skills, that will come with exp.
EXCITING YEARS AHEAD. VERY SCARY. BAYNES COMING
Splitter had the tools before getting here. In europe he already looked like a solid prospect. You can't develop every player the same way.

Baynes has potential. I think he just needs more game time, tbh.
well Splitter was already skilled and had good fundamentals...it was about him bulking up physically and adjusting to the quickness of the NBA game. Don't get me wrong, I do believe Baynes has some growth; but I'd put him under a different category than Splitter who has a solid old school center's game. Baynes is more of the type that could grow into a solid defender who can rebound and tap/dunk in misses...not the guy you can trust to do a pick and roll or do the up and under off a post up.

I'd agree with this. Baynes has a lot of potential, but he'll be a different style big than Tiago. I'm not sure his ceiling is as high, but he has the possibility of being a regular rotation big for some team.

Baynes is young and cheap. I hope he sticks around, we need at least one big ole bruiser on the roster.

Baynes has low IQ Bball. But he can play against hard working guys like RoLo better than Tiago or even Tim.

I'm still undecided about what his potential actually is, his advanced metrics are awful...
Right now, i just want him because he's a big body to give a hard foul to KD/Lebron. Anything more is a bonus.

He's got a serious lack of basketball skills. Don't confuse athleticism with upside. Baynes is a bit clumsy, so he will likely never be pick-n-roll threat which is a killer for a big guy with no range outside the paint. He is what he is - a very strong guy who will rebound and play strong, physical defense. He's basically Kendrick Perkins with slightly more offense.

Splitter still has a ways to go in the bulking up department, tbh.

Different players. Splitter was already MVP in Europe, he already had 80% of the skills.
Baynes is way too green to expect much but he does have athletic ability Spkitter never had

Baynes is Australian, though, so it's another Aussie homer thread, tbh. :lol
Baynes doesn't have low BB IQ. He has lower BB understanding than the corporate knowledge crew because he has lower experience.

I agree Baynes is very green but I think if he can work on his lateral food speed and outside shot he can be a decent starter in a few years. He is a pretty decent passer and has a decent outside shot his mechanics are not bad so he will get better in time. I really look for him to make a big improvement next season if given a chance to get minutes. (loose about 10 pds and take a dance class this summer) will help with foot speed/rebounds and coordination.
The guy is great for our pick and roll offense I mean it takes a player an extra second to get around him and he sets some tough screens that puts a hurt on the defender. Plus it's nice to have someone who Howard can't punk out you know he is not going to fuck with Baynes.
Just thinking of how well he and Bertrans will play next year in the second unit he is going to give Bertrans a lot of open shots with his monster screens.

Needs more playing time, should've done it this season after the Ayres project failed.

I'm sure we'll see him in the regular rotation, sometime in 2017-2018.

Didn't he play on the Australian NT?

Dude was born in NZ. He is Australian.
Baynes doesn't seem to have innate offensive abilities which Tiago possesses. Tiago has more athleticism. Baynes has the offensive ability and athleticism of someone like Perkins. But I love the guy. He'll be a low pay role player and his ceiling is a regular rotation player.

Bball is such a big mans game.
Every player under 6'8 has amazing bball skills and athleticism.
Nearly every player above 6'9 is a raw limitless GOAT.
And then when you get a polished big, you get Hakeem/Duncan out of 10 legacy

Baynes, at best, will be a solid reserve. I don't see him breaking out into a star or anything, but he could be a solid backup if he gets a better offensive game and becomes more aggressive.

:lol You can't really work on your lateral foot speed, or your vertical for that matter. What you have is pretty much what you have.
Aron Baynes is 27, and pretty much is what he is.

All Baynes need to do is shove some niggas like Perkins or RoLo or some 3rd big man and dunk it. Seems he's getting better at screens too. Almost a wall.
