View Full Version : Question On the Spurs Upcoming Schedule - Help If You're Good With NBA Schedules

Hi. I have to travel via bus (ugh) from Warsaw, Poland to Riga, Latvia next week. It looks like it will be an overnight bus (double ugh). Anyway, at this point I have a choice of when to buy the ticket for the night of the 18th (Sunday) or 19th (Monday). I'm trying to look at the schedule and see which is the better day to go so I don't miss the Spurs game via International League Pass. (The buses are supposed to have WIFI, but I'm skeptical). I've got complete flexibility, but have to buy the ticket in advance, so I have to take a guess soon.
If we finish off Portland on Monday (the 12th) or Wednesday (the 14th), when would the first game of the WCF likely start. Obviously, this depends on when the Clipps-Thunder series ends. But are the Eastern Conference games a factor too? If OKC makes short work of LA could the series start by next weekend? Is there anyway to guess?
What do you think? Is it a better bet to go on Sunday the 18th or Monday the 19th if I want to maximize my chance of seeing our game. Anyone here familiar with the network scheduling process?
Many thanks,'
Bill

The league's "important dates" page says the conference finals will begin on May 20 (if that's Game 1 of whichever series starts first, the second series would then start on the 21st), with a possible move-up to May 18 or 19. So, basically, for the teams that get there, the conference finals will start no earlier than the 18th and no later than the 21st.
Since ESPN/ABC has the East Finals this year, it seems likely that the plan is for the East Finals to start in the 18th (Sunday) if possible. That should put the West Finals starting no earlier than the 19th, but that's just a guess.

Cheers man, thanks for the information. It seems like going on the 18th is the safer bet (during the East finals' earliest scheduling) so the 19th is free and I can watch the games. I know its a guess, but I really appreciate it! :toast I've got more to go on than I did before.

Cheers!:toast Very kind of you to say. Yes, I hope to see it. Can't miss a playoff game. I think I only missed about 5 games during the regular season.

Take a plane you cheapskate.
Can't really do that as I'm moving and have too much and too heavy stuff for a plane even at maximum weight allowance. As I am moving from Ukraine to Latvia (via Poland and Lithuania) I'd rather not ship some things as the postal office is unreliable during the present crisis. One can move stuff by train and bus much easier with much higher weight allowances than a plane. So, I lug most my stuff with me.
Hope that clarifies things.

Does anyone know the days of the WCF? I know TNT gets the coverage this year so I assume we will start on a Tuesday or Thursday correct?

Miami will get the 2:30 cherry time on Sunday. I hope Spurs play Sat not Sunday if OKC-LA series ends on Thursday. I do not want the winner of that series to get an extra days rest.

According to the earlier post; the earliest the Conference Finals will start is Sunday the 19th. Meaning no games on Saturday regardless of how the 2nd round plays out. Most likely a Monday or Tuesday night start for the Spurs depending on if the OKC series goes 6 or 7.

Well, that sucks. Spurs might as well lose tonight to avoid rust then. Now they get no real advantage in closing out two-four days before OKC.

Alright but I think the the days are predetermined. Does the EC get the Sunday game or does the WC? Last year the Spurs had the Sunday but I think we would start monday because we have TNT? I only because Tuesday im going to be away all day Tuesday and wont get home until late wednesday. Looks like I might be missing a playoff game =/.

Honestly not sure. It's all dependent on how these other series go. If some of these other series go 7 games then it could be that games start Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday.
