The Spurs are extremely lucky to be up 3-1 right now. If it wasn't for the Spurs lucking into Aldridge having a shooting slump while defended by that scrub Splitter (biggest coaching mistake in Pop's career, mind you) as well as Lillard forgetting how to play D, this series would be over right now. Even Tony Parker, the worst PG in the playoffs, had a couple fluke games where he actually decided to put the ball in the net, play D, AND (get this) share the ball with his teammates. Now that the Blazers have woken up the Spurs are fucked. Time to pray to the basketball gods that Pop, the worst coach in the game, gets fired on the flight back to SA and the proper rotations are sent out. After all, Blair isn't walking through that door, we can't be THAT lucky. Hopefully after the inevitable happens the FO gets off their lazy assed and finally traded Bonnet and a 2nd for Lebron and KD like they should've years ago.
Go Spurs Go!
Errors still fucking sucks tho, no matter how you spin it.

Yes, we actually cared about this game. That's why we put the third-stringers in @ the 4th quarter. Your basketball acumen is amazing.

Something to build on, at least.
I seriously don't know what game robz was watching; last night was a winnable game. Spurs missed open looks that they would normally make. Blazers came out with intensity, Spurs did not. Let's see the Blazers come out with that energy for a full game IN San Antonio....not going to happen.
About the only thing about last night that worried me was Parker's lack of aggressiveness.

Defense is garbage.

Wouldn't swear to it, but I think it is just possible that Robz was reverse jinxing us. Just a hunch.

Pretty much...Holt called Pop at halftime...said he needed one more home game this series. Spurs in 5.

Yeah, let's be real here. Prior to game 4, Portland led for a total of 33 seconds in this series. Up 3-0 and ready to return to SA, the Spurs didn't play their hardest and would rather not have 8 days off before the conference finals, so they had no problem with "pseudo-tanking" (still trying to win, but not really trying to win) game 4 and ending the series in front of their home fans.
That's being real.

This. Pop literally did zero of the things that had worked against Portland in the first three games, and for good reason. Give up a little extra rest in exchange for a cold slap to the face just in case sweeping aside the Blazers started making people too comfortable. Give the players a taste of mortality going into the bloodbath of the West finals.

I was also poking fun at Blazer fan's takes tbhA good amount of them honestly think they should've swept the Spurs already.

yeah, it's a mix of making the team some money with a game 5, staying in rhythm without having 8 days off, and keeping the league happy with a long(er) series

We're fucked Nono. I fear all we've done is awoken a sleeping giant.
Awaking a sleeping giant implies that they were a giant before they went into hibernation.
Portland is a poor defensive team and a fantastic offensive team. Our defense took away their top 2 options and they got hammered. L.A. and Lillard got hot at home and they won, in part because our 3pt shot didn't fall. That isn't happening in San Antonio.
