If it weren't for 6 this would still be painful to watch.

I'll never forget two things about that:

1. it felt like there were 17 timeouts called between Duncan's shot and Fisher's (there were probably only 3 -- one after Duncan's shot and two as the Spurs defended two attempts at the inbound; whatever, that space of time was just interminable). I've wondered a few times if the Lakers had some other plan with their first or second play that would have sent the ball to someone else and if fate changed because the Spurs were too good defensively.

2. my initial reaction to seeing Duncan's shot go down (and nearly falling over the upper deck plexiglass partition) was dread that the clock stopped at .4. I vividly remember telling everyone around me that I hoped that 1/10 of a second wasn't the difference between a win and a loss. I cursed myself for days for even having spoken that thought.

Also hard to believe that a game with all of those heavyweights ended up 74-73.

This continued to hurt until 6. Now, I feel nothing nothing watching Fisher drain that fucker. Detroit might have mopped the floor with the Spurs that season.
