I'm an Aussie and joined ST to keep tabs on how our guys are playing but that said, these threads are even making me hate Patty, tbh.

Top 3 ALL TIME? It's a stretch to even discuss him in as top 3 for this season, let alone all time dude.

I'm an aussie and a patty fan but gee dude give it a rest. Patty has had a solid year. He's not an allstar or best ever back up.

Would you kindly relax already on this Patty stuff........... SIR. Watch a game and talk about other players for once. Green and Leonard did okay tonight.

Not sure if he's top 3... He is somewhere between Pat Ewing and Ayrton Senna

For a backup maybe a top 3 this season... Who else is there that comes off the bench?

Number one of all time in terms of Spur backup points in a championship-level season... aside from that, he's probably in the top tier of the league but top 3 is pushing it. Certainly beats Speedy Claxton, and we all know how he was in our title push of 03.

no, he isn't Reggie Jackson!

He could be a key to the OKC series. Kind of an X factor. Could he get to Westbrook by being an annoying pest on D (down around knee level)?

Could he get hot from three and give OKC a taste of their own medicine -- a no name off the bench suddenly hot from downtown.

He may need to come up big for the Spurs to have any chance.

He's the 2nd best point guard in spurs history, tbh...

He's the 2nd best point guard in spurs history, tbh...

I think Strickland and Robertson would say otherwise, probably even Moore. But yes, based on this season's play, I would say he has been the best backup PG the Spurs have had.

Nice to hear it from Pop....

"Patty Mills has been a significant part of our success all year long," Popovich said. "Tonight was really no different than what he has done for us all year long. He has been magnificent."
