LOS ANGELES: A California man, fuming over a car alarm going off late at night in front of his home, fired a half-dozen bullets into the car.
David Owen Rye, 48, was arrested and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and felony vandalism, according to local television CBS2.
He was accused of emptying his gun into the hood of a Toyota whose alarm went off at around 10pm Tuesday in Simi Valley, north of Los Angeles, according to the television station.
The car belonged to a young US sailor who celebrated his return from eight months in an aircraft carrier at the home of a friend who lives next door to Rye, according to the station.
The sailor had borrowed the car from his mother.
