Do you want to bring him in? I do tbh. Especially with the post Duncan era around the corner.

What would his title be?

What a sensationalist thread title by the OP. How on earth did you make the leap from "future uncertain" to "about to get fired?"

The coach did a damn good job with the little talent he had, Memphis would only hurt themselves in firing him.

Joerger impressed... that would be a good pickup

Wonder what happened... Did Hollinger and Co want to blow it up and tank while the owner wanted to keep losing in the first round... Zbo is also about to become a FA, they're really at a crossroads...

Didn't Hollinger already screw the Spurs a while back?

I'd be very happy with Joerger as the lead assistant next season. Not a fan of Hollinger, though he hasn't had enough time to implement his plan yet.

Just a guess, but I'd think this has something to do with one side really wanting to keep Z-Bo and the other side thinking that the team would be better off using Z-Bo's money to do other things.

And potentially some carryover from the Gay trade and Hollins firing. Hollinger is trying to remake the team in his image, but it's hard to do that, stay competitive and keep to the owner's desire to avoid the tax at the same time. Trading ZBo (and maybe Allen) is a huge leap of faith, since it's very possible Memphis fails to even reach last year's heights with a new cast. Owners tend to be adverse to risks that large.

Apparently for now, they've just gotten rid of the CEO (Jason Levien) and an assistant GM (Stu Lash).

Holy shit... the Grizz owner is 36 years old? Just looked him up on Google. Who knew? He's a techie who got rich pretty quick and is now principal owner of Memphis. Sounds like he's a bit sensitive too.

no idea how he managed to make an up and coming young perennial contender into an old irrelevant team about to be blown up, and not at least save a lot of money...

I'd take Hollinger over RC in a heartbeat.

He looks even younger. It could be a case of him being very successful in one aspect of his professional life, so he has the confidence and/or hubris to think he knows best in another field. Kind of like when Chris Johnson thought he could beat Usain Bolt in a race.

In fairness to the old regime, last year Grizzlies went to WCF. This year they lost in the first round.

Memphis and Golden State are fools, do they not learn from the Popovich R.C. model?

They reached the WCF only because Westbrook was out for the playoffs.

So the real difference is that last year they beat the Clippers in 6, while this year they lost to OKC (at full strength) in 7.

It's actually not that much of a difference.

Sure makes sense to me to trash the newly crowned Executive of the Year who everyone (almost everyone) agrees should have been working on his second or third award by now. [sarcasm \]

In fairness to the new regime, them missing Gasol for almost 2 months may have led them to a more difficult rd 1 matchup and OKC had westbrook this time.
