View Full Version : Spurs: Spurs' fans, can you handle another devastating playoff elimination?

OKC is 1 win away from tying this shit up. You have to admit Spurs fans that it would be devastating for you guys if the Spurs choke another 2-0 lead in the WCF against OKC.
2011 - Spurs get bounced in the 1st round by Memphis
2012 - Spurs choke 2-0 lead to OKC in WCF
2013 - Spurs choke in the last 30 seconds of game 6 of the Finals

It would kill the spurfan part of me honestly. Id have to take a looong break from the Spurs/NBA.

I think if the Spurs lose in the WCF or Finals this year, then they would be getting close to Patriots territory. Had a great run but never able to complete the mission after the great run of championships.

depends. If it's like 2012 game 6 shit, or basically tonight's officiating, then I'd be done with the NBA for good. Tbh, it sucks that Duncan's window closing is coinciding with the OKC Welfare years. If it's from Spurs choking like last year, I'd still watch, just would hate to see the team revolve around Parker since he's been a big part of the choking.

Each year the spurs got closer. This year Tony Parker is going to be choking on all that ass he's going to get at the celebration party.

going this deep in the playoffs and falling short with the 3tosb, clearly shows how shit the league is diluted of teams and the heat have had it too easy with their championships

Yeah, but we're talking about a cumulative effect tbh. An anthology of choking, if you will. I'm still waiting for the back-breaking Manu performance.

My guess is we lose game 4 and Pop, Manu and Timmy retire, mid series.

Or not ...

Really it's not a collapse when you clearly dominate a team only to have the refs hand them a games in the series.

Yep, it would. This place would die fast.

Last straw it will take for Kori to say fuck it and let the site's pay cycle end and just let it wither.

That being said. Spurs will win game 4.

If the refs are at least decent. Did you check out the huge parity in FT attempts just in the 3rd quarter favoring the Thunder? The refs simply didn't allow the Spurs to make any type of run. Fuck that.

Too many coincidences so it is to be expected.

Ibaka coming back is just a red herring. Everyone thinks that's why they won. I mean, partly yes but not entirely.

You have the refs to consider.

Thats true, but this would be a huge kick to the nuts after game 6! THE ICING on the cake. They looked so good 8 out of the last 10 games and to have them just implode and lose again in 6 to the Thunder would be devistating after being up 2-0 again.

At least you know what a Superbowl looks like. All Houston knows how to do is stuff like give up the biggest lead in playoff history and make plays that get called against them that lead to inception of instant replay.

pretty ingenious on the league's part. make the story about Spearchucker's valiant return, when the real history making was the FT disparity in the 3rd quarter.

The Spurs are not going to win a championship this year. If they make it to the Finals it will be a miracle, but they won't beat the Heat in a series. Spurs fan should be content with getting this far, and treat the Finals like getting to the top of the mountain with no sherpa.

A playoff exit vs OKC after leading 2-0 would be like rubbing salt in a fresh wound and make 6 sting even more because OKC is young and if they stay healthy that means 6 was the spurs last legit shot at a title and they blew it in dramatic fashion.

That should be the mindset of our players. We don't have nothing to lose and we've already won 4 rings in Tim's era. We can perform even above our normal level with the mental pressure gone, just like our scrubs did through the last 1.5 quarters tonight.

But the fans have every right to want a 5th ring or even a 6th, there's nothing wrong with that imho.
