They clogged the inside and Parker/Manu wasn't effective like this series, but we figured out and win in 6. I think our bench exploited them today, I think Pop going to start Joseph instead of Green in game 5.

If Duncan were in his 20's I'd say sure.. but not this team

I don't think Pop starts Joseph but I think he gets Patty's minutes.

No, not really. Manu attacked relentlessly in that series.

Except we don't have a young Duncan to put up 30/10, Bruce Bowen and Stephen Jackson's balls

No I think he gets Belli's minutes. Mills and Joseph on Jackson and Westbrook

This is like 2012 when OKC backdoor swept the Spurs.

That makes some sense, that'd be an interesting lineup to try.

Didn't have Jackson in 2005 plus Duncan was injured. Manu won us that series.

I was thinking 03, my bad. (after tonight you can understand). But yeah, Manu attacked the paint at will in that series. We have no one doing this right now

RayRay does have a couple of titles (sorry, too soon) and Rashard has been the beta on as many teams to reach the finals as KD.
But yeah, point taken

Regardless, Green better start. He's a different player at home

I wouldn't start Joseph. I wouldn't mind seeing him take some of Marco's minutes at the 2 and some of Mills at the 1.

Yeah it's not like our Big 3 havent been here before. 05' against the Sonics AND the Pistons. The way the Spurs lost Games 3 and 4 in Detroit was so depressing, but they came back and won an amazing Game 5. It's gonna take all of what this Big 3 has in them, but they can dig down deep and get a win...

It took a role player to step up.

This. I wouldn't mind this at all. Especially when Brooks has the Westbrook/Jackson combo out there...

The Spurs have 2 guys who are capable of having a huge game at home...Green and Diaw.

Unfortunately they're old as fuck, the young bloods need to step up big if the spurse are to have a chance.

Beli wasn't really in the rotation. I think Pop may even start Joseph. He seems to be the only guard consistently attacking.

I think his ball handling skills are also needed in this series. Especially with the Thunder playing so aggressive on D.

Nigga is Sampson. You cut his hair and he fouls Nowitzki and then has 8 turnovers.
Point is this is like a bunch of different series...Spurs have played in a lot of them.

Sure, but Parker is better now, and our supporting cast of Leonard, Green, Splitter, and Diaw can make up for the age of Duncan and Ginobili, especially with Game 5 being at home.

is this a Spurfan thing to compare the current series to past series just based on the series record after a certain # of games? Could it possibly just be a coincidence? Why does there have to be a connection at all?

Ginobili still had hair during the 2006 season, tbh.

If the Spurs need Duncan or Ginobili to go into a (hot tub) time machine to beat Oklahoma City then I guess we're fucked.
