22 points, 12 rebounds in the biggest game of the season, at age 38:lol..

Pretty amazing, considering most of the other great players of his era are finished, tbh(Kobe, Shaq, Garnett, etc)..

If he's so good, how come he only played 30 minutes and couldn't get off the bench in the fourth?

In spite of the fact that he now has a jumper, he's still a post player at heart, and excels there.

I noticed. He was critical to get going in the first half. He is still the most important player on the Spurs. Parker is a piece of shit in crucial games usually.

Yup. Pop put him in a bad spot with the Bonner pairing from a defensive perspective, but he made up for it with the rebounding.

As long as he doesn't do those 6 seconds back to baskets and fades away tbh.

I love those rebounding stats tbh. That's the key for the rest of the series for Timmy.

I always knew his game would maintain over time. He is a true skill player, not just a super athlete.

Can't believe he's still doing this shit at 38.

And some here claim he has no place in this series.

You need to rethink your life, posting a stupid ass comment like that.

Was there any fucking doubt Timmy still had plenty more in the tank?!? Really?!?

When Duncan makes quick decisions when he gets the ball in the block its okay. When he faces up or sets the pick he's something special.

It is all about how you use him.

Don't make him waste energy on 1v1 ISO's unless it is a mismatch off-screen on Durant or something, just feed him near the rim, he is very good at running to the rim, get tip-in's, get easy baskets. He also sets great screens and makes great passes.

Just stop calling ISO's for him against anything more than a terrible post defender.

Man, Timmy can force everything and still average 20 and 10 IMO..But he's not kobe.

I agree..his positioning is amazing, he knows exactly how to move without the ball, and having a stretch 4 with him allows the guards and Diaw to find him on cuts with the lane wide open..

Duncan can't post up against similarly-sized players anymore, but he can still post against skinny/smaller players(like Bosh, if the Spurs make it to the Finals), so they need to stick to that and stop wasting possessions on Duncan posting up against Perkins/Adams..

I think this year's Bosh vs this year's Duncan will most likely result in low field goal % for Duncan.

Birdman is also a Duncan killer in the post.

Post-up also takes too much away from Duncan's tank. He is so much more efficient catching and finishing near the rim.

He's unbelievable. Legendary performance given his age and the implications of the game.

Duncan has actually had a solid year in the post, especially on the right block.

Also, Timmy killed both players in the finals and regular season this year, so not sure what you're talking about.

Duncan guarding Bosh is bad for us because Bosh is now a perimeter player that just wants to launch 3s. Splitter I can see being useful against that sort of sissy style of play though.

As far as Bird Man, I think he had one portion of one critical game (thinking it was 6, maybe it was 7) last year where he defended Duncan well. Otherwise Duncan had his way with him, I would agree that Duncan posting up on Bird Man over and over is not a good strategy though. Duncan posting on Haslem I like all day long.

So basically if we dare to look ahead I like Duncan out there against Bird/Haslem but not Bosh, with the exception of final 28 seconds.
