Spoelstra has done something that hasn't been done since '84-'87 Boston Celtics,,,take his team to 4 straight Finals. Pop, Jackson, and Riley never did that and they have the same argument going against them that Spoelstra does,,,,all of them had to ride their talent to titles.

On the plus side for Spoelstra, it is a nice accomplishment.
On the con side, he did in during a stretch when the East was historically weak.

Spo is not bad from an X's and O's standpoint. He's probably 4th in the league behind Pop, Carlisle, and Rivers.

Having a bye the first 2 rounds of the playoffs doesn't hurt.

Yea he also coached in a MUCH tougher and more competitive Western Conference the past decade and never had a Lebron James on his team. I guarantee you if the Spurs played in the East all those years they would have repeated. Get real.

There's a big difference between organically building a dynasty via late 1st and 2nd round picks, and being hired to keep the egos in check of 3 future HoFers who colluded to form Superfriends

It's never easy to return to the Finals for 4 years and have a path to a threepeat, but even the most deluded of all Miami fans have to acknowledge how pathetically easy the East is. No fault to them, they didn't cause the imbalance of power single-handedly, the East has been bad for a long time now. To their respect, they did beat us and the Thunder, which are legitimate teams that were more challenging for them than any team in the East — excluding Indiana from last year, who lost to the Heat like we did in the Finals — not having a big on the floor in the final seconds.
The East had two teams that would have made the playoffs in the west. Enough said.

does spo really even have to coach? he has a stacked team and the superstars just get it done on their own it seems.

He runs a lot of the same actions the spurs do on offense.

The submissive filipino is just Ryleys puppet imo
Ryley could have picked any bum off the streets and that bum would still have made it to the finals.
Ryley probably hired that filipino from a fast food joint

The East was weak, but that doesn't mean the Heat are weaker. They went with a different strategy this year, instead of playing for every game (remember how exhausted they were after their streak), they followed the Spurs map and rested guys particularly Wade. They're healthier and better rested than last year. Wade is in much better shape, and Bosh has expanded his game. Our hopes (should we make the finals) rest on the fact that our team has improved and some of Miami's role-players have declined. We'd better take the first two at home while Miami adjusts to the level of competition it hasn't faced in the playoffs so far.

Yeah, we still have to win one more game, but I think we take care of OKC tonight and set up the Finals rematch. I can't wait! :hat

I'll concern myself with the Heat when the Spurs win that elusive fourth game against OKC. Winning Game 5 just makes this series a tossup instead of a guaranteed 6-game win for the Thunder.
That said, there's no reason why Pop shouldn't coach circles around Spo. He's not a bad coach, by any means, but having Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Allen, Battier, and now a resurgent Lewis on your roster certainly makes your job easier when the East offers little resistance. The Heat would have won the East anyway, but it doesn't help that the rest of the conference is a hilarious joke. It took two 7 point performances by Lebron just to give the Pacers two victories. Pop's coaching has looked superb this postseason, even if at times we've wondered what's taken him so long to make certain adjustments. The dude knows what he's doing and he's got 2013 to influence his decision making this time around, should the Spurs get there.

Seriously the Heat are a stacked team. I guess that means Lebron James + D. Wade and Bosh + nobodies = stacked team?

Hemisfair with the truthbomb once again... Where are the popsuckers? How do you guys explain the mastermind going to Bonner and Beli like it's a meaningless regular season game...
Miami has shut down the Spurs in the paint in this game, impressive coaching from Spo...

Playing Green 18 minutes is not COTY. We need to improve our defense to have any chance.
