It sucks being in the same division with them, being a Niner fan. We do however have to give credit where credit is due, they have a great defense, a great running back and a QB who doesn't fuck it up. That's all that is needed to win in the NFL. And they do.
No QB in NFL history has won more games in their first two seasons than Russell Wilson. And he did it without a great receiving gang, he's never had a Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson or a stud TE.
I gotta be honest I don't like Kaepernick, and yep, wish we still had Alex Smith. Fuck running around give me a guy who doesn't fuck it up.
I love my Niners but we are a wrung below the Seahawks right now, but then who isn't?

I'm not much of a Kaepernick fan either. Represents exactly the sort of American males I look down upon
The only thing that scares me about the Seahawks is that homefield. It automatically gives them an extra game or 2 in the division race. Everything went the Seahawks way last season while we missed Crabtree & A.Smith and yet it all came down to a poor call on the Brees sack & fumble.
Russell's current contract is accurately reflective of his workload. One of the few times a sports contract makes sense (albeit by circumstance)

2008 Giants: Lost to Eagles in divisional playoffs after bye
2009 Steelers: Missed Playoffs
2010 Saints: Lost to Seahawks in Wild Card round
2011 Packers: Lost to Giants in divisional playoffs after bye
2012 Giants: Missed Playoffs
2013 Ravens: Missed Playoffs

You can blame that call all you want, but the Saints dominated the Niners on the field day and the only reason the game was close was due to unforced turnovers by the Saints. The only way the Niners can stay on the field with the Saints is when the Saints turn it over a ton.

Forcing turnovers has been the Niners defensive motive since 2011. Turnovers is the result from being bigger, stronger and faster.

Sorry but the turnovers the Saints had in that game last year were clearly unforced. Muffed point, fumbling the ball out of the end zone. Seriously, those plays kept the Niners in that game. Otherwise it was gonna be a runaway win for the Saints. The Saints defense has considerably closed the gap with the Niners especially the front four and secondary and the Saints still have a Pro Bowl QB.

Sure, I enjoy watching the Saints.
I'll wait til Training Camp to break down our two teams. I'm awaiting the coming out party for Lattimore & Carradine. Until the Niners shore up the CB's, playing the Saints will remain an attractive matchup.

That Seattle homefield advantage is ridiculous, I totally agree with you (who wouldn't?).
Kaepernick is one of the greatest "athletes" to ever play QB in league, he's just not cerebral enought, he doesn't have that football IQ needed to play that position at the NFL level. I'd love to have Smith back.

Well when ya have the winnniest second year QB in history, the only QB to have a QBR of over a 100 in both his first seasons, a guy who has thrown as many TD's as anyone ever has after two seasons ya might as well add that as another first. Obviously RW is used to doing things others didn't/couldn't.

Not really. We had a decimated offensive line, and missed Percy Harvin practically the entire season.

The Seahawks are the shitty Ravens or Giants--they'll be alright. It's inherently tough to win back-to-back in any sport. And to say they had breaks? No shit as every championship team has to be the beneficiary of luck and talent to win it all. That's got to be the dumbest comment in sports. However noticing the lack of intellect from some posters here it isn't all that surprising. :lmao at these people, Spur-Addict

:rollin The Gemini Method, they always have some reason to explain away the achievements of others. Every team gets breaks aside from the Bills. BTW, you have to vote for Cam Newton so Sherman avoids the Madden Curse.

I honestly felt Seattle was the best NFC team in 2012 but didn't have homefield. They beat themselves against Atlanta but I would have picked the Niners in a close won at home.

Our DL was shoddy in 2012--when we swooped on Avril and Bearded Moses, we became the vaunted D necessary to win a championship. Det probably wouldn't have mattered since Russell and Co. have not won in Candlestick/Levi's Stadium just yet. Don't matter though; defending champs bruh! WoohooooohooW

I don't always blitz, but when I do it's with 40 seconds left when the team needs to go to the length of the field to score.

Without that aggressive D do you go 13-3 and win a Super Bowl in '09 ?
He can be overly aggressive with the blitz, hangin his DB's out to dry i get it. GW won't have to send the farm to generate pressure with this DLine though. Much more talent in St Lou than GW's ever had to work with before.

The secondary was much better in 2009 compared to 2011. Plus the defense was below average in the regular season other than turnovers and he barely blitzed Peyton in the Super Bowl.
But blitzing with 40 seconds left when the team has to go 67 yards was stupid and uncalled for. Plus the year before his blitzing defense got burned in the playoff loss at Seattle.
