kawhi wont put up monster stats, but i have a feeling he put up stats like last years finals which is good enough
remember struggle all series where wade and bosh didnt get going which was all losses....when those 2 got going was when he started to pad his stats
kawhi will do a better job this time around defending this clown, i dont think the spurs will allow him to shoot but play him straight up

He isn't going to outplay the best player in the NBA. Stop it.
If he can somewhat contain LeBron while helping us on the offensive end, I'll take it. We need Kawhi to have the best series of his life right now.

Lebron showed his frustration at the ft line last year and that was against an injured Kawhi.

There's nothing to say that Leonard can't put up better stats than James for a game or two. Green wrecked Durant in Game Two of the WCF. But to say Kawhi will come out of this series having had a better overall performance than James would be ludicrous. I just hope he can match Bosh's production.

You cannot say it was good enough if the Spurs lost. You have to put the onus on the team, and Leonard is part of that. He missed a crucial FT late in the game.. so yeah you can.

For a majority of the series Leonard played as well if not better than was expexted of him individually. If more teammates performed similarly, namely tony, Manu, and splitter, could have gone differently. Surely you can differentiate between a player doing his part and the team coming short. If Lebron drops 70 on 60% today with 15 assists and Miami loses, I think it would he fair to say Lebron did enough but the team let him down

:lmao amazing how the bar for Lebron to "not let his team down" is 70 and 15 on 60% shooting. I know you were exaggerating but I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby/Jordan nuthuggers actually believe this and hold Lebron to these standards.

True. But there was some serious cherry picking going on by calling him out for the missed FT last year and his underwhelming performance the first two games. It works both ways.

James was still great this series. I don't think Kawhi outplayed him though. I do think that he matched up really well and negated an awful lot of what James was doing out there by taking it to him on the other end. It was a gutsy display and he went to work. If he had been on the floor more the first two games, a MUCH stronger case could be made for Leonard. Still proud and one hell of an accomplishment for Leonard. The best part about Leonard, is that he can still get better. Well done Leonard!!!

No way he outplayed James. But I think he was the second best player this series.
Congrats on the chip, but let's not get carried away
George is more polished, but he's also a year older and has two seasons of being the main option. Those touches help development. Leonard is the better defender, and pretty efficient at scoring. he doesn't shoot the ball 20 times a game but sits in the 10-15 range and still puts up 20 pts. The gap isnt' as big as it used to be.. that's for sure.
Game 5 stats
Lebron
10-21, 31 pts 10 reb 5 ast
Leonard
7-10, 22 pts 10 reb 2 ast
That's pretty efficient.

Thanks, but it's a little misguided to think that he won't become a star in the league... not many Finals MVPs end up being busts in the league after they won FMVP. Kawhi will be a star in the league... He showed a lot this postseason.
