Conventional wisdom seems to be that Timmy will sail off into the sunset never to be heard from again but I wonder about that. He seems to love the game too much just to leave it all behind. I wouldn't be surprised to see Coach Duncan someday.

What do you see TD doing after he can't play anymore?

Wouldn't surprise me to see him buy a minority share of the team like Robinson did. Wouldn't be too bad an investment with how stacked the current CBA is in the owners' favor.

I can totally seem him calling Spurs games like a Sean Elliott type role. He will also be mentoring a lot of upcoming players for many years to come. He will be involved whether he likes it or not :lol

Ric Renner said he thinks TD can play into his mid-40s.

Ric doesn't seem like the type to exaggerate, so Tim's decision may not be for a while.

The guy likes his hobbies.

Its gonna have to be a part time gig.

What is his kid situation? Full custody or what. I have a feeling they love mom. Want to see her often.

He'll buy a Nascar team.

When they fall off he'll stick around and be a mentor/ player development coach, tbh....

He'll probably pull a Hakeem and charge a 500k a session to teach some basic post moves tbh.

There are some weird takes in here. I don't see Timmy wanting any part of coaching or TV gigs.

Go back to the Virgin Islands and savor living at the beach again. Guy deserves it after a HOF career and 5 titles.

This.

If anything, most likely something like baseline bum suggested.

He will probably stay in SA and run his business. I can see him having some role in the spurs front office as well.

Sean was born for that role, Tim not so much.

Me either. He shuns the spotlight now. He'll be on milk cartons when retired.

Would be funny and weird if he did that though, the ****** stuff. I mean, you get to hear Tim talk, and talk, and talk some more. :lol

I think the complete opposite, tbh. I don't think we'll see much outta Tim after he retires besides Charity or Black Jack things.

He will be around the game in some way I would think.. I don't know why people assume he will just fade away and never be around it again.. Larry Bird wasn't a fan of attention or media either..

Tim isn't articulate. He would as bad as or worse than Reggie Miller

I know timmy's a millionaire, but can't help but wonder with the divorce how much he lost, his body is in great shape, i'm sure he wouldn't mind playing a few more years, making a few more million for his kids, afterall, dude is 38 and still getting double doubles and is better power forward then 70% of the others.

It'd be awesome to see him and David in the stands together during in-game cutaways, cheering on a Kawhi fast break dunk

When he retires, he'll have some say in the organization but not be officially involved. He's got some businesses to run in the area and lots of hobbies to keep him occupied post-basketball.

But, I don't want him to retire, not yet. He's got at least 2 more solid years in him left based on how well he's playing now and how little he plays in the regular season.

I don't see him as a coach or in a front office position at all. Actually I don't see him doing anything basketball-related after retiring, but if he does something I think he would development consultant/mentor for Spurs bigs.

I agree with that but it also wouldn't shock me to see him in some sort of official role in the organization, especially until Tony retires. I'm not predicting that but it wouldn't shock me.

He will enjoy retirement like Robinson. He doesn't have the personality to be in the booth or coach.

Duncan will sail off to some beach with his kids. Manu will absolutely be a coach someday soon. Tony will probably concentrate on owning a team in France. Pop will be in some vineyard.

Can't let that one pass.

Tim is plenty articulate -- he just speaks in a monotone. Bad for TV.

Reggie Miller's problem isn't that he's inarticulate either. He just thinks he's funny and he isn't.

Tim will be a mentor to incoming big men while owning a share of the team and enjoying more free time with his kids. Oh dont forget more time for his hobbies........
