Players who stand out because they take the game on their shoulders get the most credit and the most liability. Tony's game is predicated on him attacking the rim, probably gets more points in the paint than most bigs in the league, and when he's not able to do that he often just looks for a high pick so he can shoot a jumper. His court vision isn't great, and I think that often gets misdiagnosed as being a ball hog. He does stall the offense, but he probes the defense much like how Kobe probes the defense of young white hotel staff members in Colorado, only Tony can finish most times without the need to dump it off manually behind the screen.

I've accepted Parker for what kind of player he is. He's a star player that just isn't consistent enough to be a lead dog on a title team, which would be unprecedented since no PG not named Magic led a team to the title (Bad Boys were built around their defense more than Isiah).

It's just beyond frustrating when he baits you into thinking he's turned the corner from star to superstar and then flames out. After the Memphis series and Game 1 of the Finals last year, I thought he made that leap. But then he goes and shoots 9-35 combined in two of the biggest games in Franchise history (Games 6 and 7). Yeah, his hamstring was bothering him, but that's another problem with Parker. If he's not a perfectly healthy 100%, his game takes a massive dive.

And it's deja vu all over again. Parker's health will likely decide the outcome of this series. We're not getting away with him out of the lineup or severely hobbled against the Heat.

You got a guy who came into the league as an unknown low draft pick, worked his ass off and improved tremendously, stays loyal and takes paycuts compared to his marker value, always says and does the right things, yet he always get the blame and all his mistakes are scrutinized and amplified by some spurs fans, while fans from all the opposing teams would kill to have that kind of guy on their team...

He is the best PG in the league. His low assist stats are a product of the system. A system that could not work if not for TP's ability to collapse the opposing defense in the paint. He isn't as flashy as CP3 because he doesn't have anyone to chunk alley oop passes to, but he is better and he is a winner.
