The deal, worth $61 million guaranteed, makes Kaepernick as one of the NFL's top-10 quarterback and includes a record amount of guaranteed money. He was scheduled to have made $1.073 million this season.
It also is the ultimate sign of confidence that the 49ers have no worries about Kaepernick's role in an off-season incident in Miami that police still are investigating.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers (http://www.nfl.com/teams/sanfrancisco49ers/profile?team=SF) have agreed to terms on a six-year extension through 2020, according to a source. Kaepernick will earn up to $126 million, with $61 million guaranteed. Kaepernick was entering the final year of his rookie contract, which was set to pay him under $1 million. The deal was completed in only one day of negotiations.
