That's right, we should be down 2-0. What is surprising is we played much better in game 2 than 1 and lost. Although, the refs didn't help either with some bogus call (I guess it could have gone both ways).
I don't think the Spurs can beat the Heat because I have to say it Lebron James is the best player in the world.

LeBron James is just having his way this series even before the cramp he had around 25 points through 3 quarters. the good news is that if he has a slightly bad game the Spurs probably win but the bad news is that he probably won't. Heat in 6

things that don't give me confidence is Parker turning into a pussy around this time of year, which I've already factored in.
The other is the media sucking the PED infused jizz off of Lebron, who still can't give a decent interview to save his life.
If the Tribe wants Lebron to threepat and be the next Jordan, to push that fucking merch, Spurs might have to play out of their minds.

Well needless to say we have to split the next two, but even if we do, this series heavily favors miami unfortunately. They simply have the best player in the series (by far) and you always take the best player when you have to choose between the two evenly matched teams.
Oh, and Spurs continue to find ways to lose games down the stretch. The free throw line will forever haunt this franchise, so we've got that going against us as well.
im starting to get worried. miami is better than i thought

Frankly, both teams should be happy with the series being 1-1. We were up game 1 when LeCramp happened, and if we made our FTs this game, we would have won. Let's just move on and focus on game 3 now. We need to make sure Green and Leonard don't get in foul trouble early and I think we're gravy. I still think we have the better team, and you're pretty stupid if you thought Miami was just going to lay down for us. This series was never going to be a sweep, so let's just move on the the next game. Go Spurs Go. :flag:

No actually, it feels like we should be up 2-0. We won game 1 by 15 points and lost game 2 by a mere 2 points, which we should have covered with free throws. How the fuck did you come up with feeling like we're down 0-2? I don't see it at all.
Really? How good did you think they were making a fourth straight Finals with back to back titles?
they only won 54 games in a weak conference. i watched them a few times this year and i wasnt impressed. they are small up front and have a weak bench, i just didnt think they could defend us as well as they have for stretches. we throughly outplayed a thunder team who was the second best team in the league all year. bosh did not play well against us last year so i was thinking that might continue. now he and rashard lewis who i thought had retired are kicking our ass.

Do you really think the Heat can sustain playing at their level with a 7 man rotation basically. Hell no. They will wear themselves out. Spurs lost one. Big deal. Key Spurs stat from last night: 60% FT. That's it.
Also, it felt to me like Timmy especially was missing short stuff in the 2nd half that he usually hits. Plus Belinelli sucked again, and I don't think he gets any better in Miami. Frankly I'd bench him for Bonner. Yes, I actually wrote that.
Two point fucking game. A couple more free throws here, a made basket there, and we're up 2-0. Frustrating loss, reverting to some old bad habits. But it's a long series. As game 1 showed, Miami aren't superhuman and can be beat. These are two very evenly matched teams, so buckle up for a long series.

The way ESPN makes it sound today we are lucky the Spurs are lucky they didn't get turned to stone for looking at the wonder and majesty of king Lebron or dare challenge the mighty heat. We should have just forfeited before the series started. The same way OKCs wins were just as big of blowouts as our were in the WCF, though ours averaged 26 points and theirs only averaged 12. The title means way more than media acknowledgement but this crap gets old. I wouldn't be surprised if after the Spurs winning the title ESPN reporters first question to TD is, 'how do you think Lebron is feeling?"

I'm always worried or concerned after a playoff loss, especially one that ties the series up. I thought we might be in trouble after Game 4 vs OKC. If we can close a game out in OKC, in OT, I see no reason why we can't steal 1 game in Miami.
Game 1 was weird for both teams, so it was hard to get any real feel for it. Look for Pop to make adjustments now heading into game 3 now that he got a true look at what Miami wants to do.

To correct my posting that Miami can't win in San Antonio. I forgot that the Spurs are fully capable of beating themselves in San Antonio. 4 missed FT's in a row. In an NBA finals playoff game ?
Capt Bringdown
06-09-2014, 01:54 PM
It's not that we lost game 2, its HOW we lost game 2. The Spurs choked away an easy opportunity at the FT line to add 4pts to their lead. Even if they hit a mediocre 3 out of 4 of those shots, the outcome might have been different.
So, the Spurs are left wondering why they can't seem to help themselves win against the Heat. A crisis of confidence. A choke job. Gifting easily-won and obtainable advantages to the opponent.
Sound familiar?

06-09-2014, 02:28 PM
Though I hate turnovers, the Spurs can become too turnover obsessed. When we have low/no turnovers that generally means the pace is slow, half court set BB which isn't the Spurs game. Basically I'm confortable with having some turnovers if the pace is good and they're playing how they win, at a fast pace. They just have to find that 'sweet spot' where the pace is good and the turnovers aren't out of control. If the Spurs are going to play 'their game' and how they've been winning, there are going to be turnovers, and sometimes, a lot of them. But when it's clickin' it's beautiful to watch and it works. They can also become to 'make the last pass' obsessed. It just may be, against a team like Miami, that they aren't going to get as many of those 'perfect shots'. I saw them passing up shots I thought they should take.
Then again, never coached an NBA game so ...what the fuck do I know.

I still see this going at least 6 games IMO. problem is game 6 is in Miami.
Sure the optimist in me would like to think Spurs can be leading 3-2 going into game 6. but the realist in me just does not see how that scenario could play out. Not with Bosh, Wade and Lebron playing at such a filthy level. Shit none of the rest of the Heat need to show up.
I knew this was going to happen so not surprised. IMO Spursfan needs to take it like the Spurs themselves. 1 game at a time.
Regardless losing this series will be nothing compared to last year :lmao

The frustration fastball from Manu to Timmy didn't help matters either. Timmy was layup bound if that's just a regular pass and not a 90 mile an hour fastball.

Yeah I'm not saying it wasn't a shitty no-call but Manu got frustrated and we gave up two, late in the game. Tim had the layup. You have to be able to control that frustration and keep playing. Again, it wasn't me that got whacked so ...
Every time the Spurs lose, it feels like the series is over. Every time the Spurs win, it feels like the Spurs are going to sweep. That's the playoffs. Winning championships is hard.

These are two closely matched teams where the result will vary game to game based on key plays down the stretch. Both games played out as such. If the Spurs make their free throws un the fourth, it changes the complexion of the game. Spurs stepped up in game 1...just fell short last night.
What allows me to stay grounded and rational is that Pop has yet to make his first big adjustment. As Spo said, it'll be a long "possession series." If you weren't prepared for that ahead of time, now you know.

Now, after all you know, and after all you've seen, you want to give up when its tied 1-1? At this point it is 0 to 0 with Miami having home court now, and whoever wins the first 3 games takes it all since they split the first two games.
We will see what we will see.:flag:
It is true the Spurs caught a break when Lebron started cramping. I remember the Heat were up 6 in the third quarter with momentum when Lebron had to check out early. That game could have easily snowballed if Lebron remained in the game and played his normal minutes. But a win is a win in the playoffs and hopefully the Spurs realize how lucky they are the series is even. They need to play much harder and smarter.

it feels that way because Heat came out of the gate more juiced ready and you could tell that affected the Spurs.
part of that is on Parker. he's supposedly the head of the snake, but often turns into a snake's vagina. I wish he would fix his body language but it is what it is.
More importantly, the Spurs are much bigger and complex than simply Parker's team, so hopefully Pop sits him if he's disappearing.
The other factor that affected my confidence was how the media reacted to the AC situation. The media are propagandist shitheads for the most part. The story went from the Spurs' redemption to "how dare they don't roll out the red carpet for Queen James". It's incredible how many people claim the AC was sabotaged without any proof, while no one touches on Lebron's suspicious cramping. Ultimately Lebron means more money to them than the Spurs, until he retires and then the knives will come out.
Spurs just need to win a game on Miami's homecourt in a decisive fashion to show they're for real. That will inspire a lot of confidence. Spurs have also yet to play close to a complete game, so as long as they can build towards that, they should be alright.
