Lebron was shooting free throws up 2 with less than a minute left... Weak ass crowd eating Whataburger

Refs were horrible. Crowd chanted a weak ass "Refs you suck" chant twice

... I don't think I've ever seen a Finals crowd NEVER get on their feet once

Lebron making crazy shots, crowd is ooing, aaing...and eating Whataburger

Yeah, like Miami's crowd is so much better.

I doubt Spurs fans would be leaving in droves when a game is still in doubt like theirs did in 6

I was at the game -- the crowd was fine.

The crowd at Game1 was all time great.

Anyone that thinks that Miami's crowd is better is utterly lacking perspective.

Miami's crowd is notoriously blase, leaving a finals game that their team then won.

Miami's arena is like a mausoleum during the actual championship ceremony.

its not just about leaving early, its about the enthusiasm, noise during the game. i'm sure the crowd has its moments, but its nothing like OKC for example. miami's in that regard is more active and louder than the spurs fans...

It's no secret that I'm not a fan of the Spurs crowd. Very weak crowd that seems to not have their hearts into the game. They need to be more hostile towards the opposing team, but they rarely ever are.

I don't give a fuck if Lebron makes a good play, you've got to make him feel unwelcome out there, not give him props and let him off.

San Antonio is one of the biggest cities in the country, but it has a relatively small metro area compared to a lot of cities that are supposedly smaller.

San Antonio has very few corporate headquarters, compared to other "big cities". Even the name sponsor of the arena is no longer headquartered in SA.

The NBA (as other professional sports) is rapidly pricing itself out of the range of many/most average people. Outside of the upper levels, a large portion of all the tickets sold are written off as a business expense - whether they are used for business entertaining or not.

The fans in SA are spoiled as hell. They have seen too many successful seasons, and don't bat an eye at 67 wins because they don't understand just what a big deal it is. That's the problem with attracting a bunch of bandwagon fans.

Has this really been an ongoing issue with the Spurs home crowd for seasons?

I've only been to one game in San Antonio (I live on the east coast) and it was packed and full of excitement. But that was the season after they had just won a championship, so maybe that had something to do with it. But the guy I was sitting next to did say that his company has tons of season seats throughout the arena so that's mainly how he gets to go to games. I'm guessing a lot of locals aren't willing or can't afford the price for lower level seats on a regular basis and business gobble those up and they go to waste if they can't an employee or client to take the seats.

But over the last few seasons, I've been to Spurs games in Miami, DC, Brooklyn, & Philly and there were always a nice amount of Spurs fans but I felt like it was loudest in San Antonio.

The Spurs had just won their first title when the arena vote happened. The team was hoping to put the stadium right next to the Alamodome but the city of San Antonio kept trying to tag on all these bullshit projects they knew could never get passed on their own, but they figured San Antonio residents would just vote for the whole package since the team just rang a couple of months before. The Spurs were scared the vote would fail with all the pork the city added to the arena proposal so they went with Bexar County's proposal to put the arena on land the county owned right next to the Freeman Coliseum. It was funny hearing it sold as a neighborhood revitalization program when it was just more welfare for the rich. LOL 13 years later and the area is still shitty and dead at night.
