View Full Version : NBA: No Matter How You Slice It... Jim's Ass-

Buddy Mignon

hole was split three different ways. Shaq dominated him head to head. Kobe dominated him head to head. And once Lebron rings again he's going to have his slice as well. So... the way I sum this up is Jim never could dominate top level competition. Sure... he was better than Dirk, KG, and Nash... which was great competition, but when it came to going up against all-time greats hE shit his pants the majority of the time. Basically... he's the Jerry West of his era... always the sentimental favorite, but rarely coming through against top level competition. DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER!!! It is what it is, guys.

He's in rare company if he accomplishes this. Mikan, Russel, MJ, Shaq, and Kobe are the only great players to accomplish this feat. It's much harder to do it today than in years past due to guys not being loyal to their teams. Props to Lebron if he does pull this off. Right now my top ten list for legacy goes...

Russell
Kareem
MJ
Magic
Kobe
Shaq
Duncan
Bird
Thomas
Hakeem

If Lebron three peats I bump Hakeem and keep Thomas because he beat Bird, owned Jordan and beat Magic. I'll slide Lebron right in there behind Shaq. I think it's safe that Duncan remains a top 10 legacy, but as far as a top 10 player... his numbers just don't cut it for me. We all know I've been the biggest Lebron hater from day one, but once you start ringing I shut the fuck up. He's in a position to crack top three if he keeps a solid core around him.

According to most Spurs fans and NBA analysts... the Spurs have been the most consistent team in the last 15 years. They have kept their core together longer than most teams in history... and have future HOF'er players, yet they have never defended their title. Because you've never done it you truly don't know how hard it is.

I already killshotted the Luva/Kool tactic of talking down Duncan. http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234742

Just let them do it. The more they do, the more it shows Kirby has never beaten any greats in the playoffs.

They have to pick their poison:

Talk down Duncan as a weak all-time great (outside the top 15)=Kirby has had the easiest title runs in NBA history, never really beating anyone.

Or they can acknowledge Duncan's greatness, which would also prop up Kirby, making his title runs much more meaningful.

That means Duncan is overrated and not really that great of a player if he couldn't repeat, meaning Kirby never really went though any all-time greats on the way to his titles.

So to denigrate Duncan is to basically admit Kirby stacked titles and repeated in a relatively weak era, where no other team/players were capable of repeating.

I mean, take the Spurs out the equation, and who did Kirby really beat?

Those "awesome" Kings teams? They had a peak of one fucking year and then were quickly back to irrelevance.

The Jailblazers? :lol

Carmelo's Nuggets? :lol

I'd also say making back-to-back Finals right now is more impressive than Kirby's repeat.

I mean, really. He had to go through such juggernaut teams as the Aaron Brooks' led Rockets, Deron Williams led Jazz, the Thuggets, the old version of the SSOL Suns, and then found himself in the Finals against Dwight Coward's Magic, who were without Jameer Nelson and whose best wing was Hedo Turkeyglu :lol

Then he gets gifted an old washed up "Big 3" Celtics team that was only there because Lebron tanked.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have to go against the potential fuckin' GOAT who is at his peak.

Fair enough. Duncan's a 2-timer if he repeats losing in the finals.

Now they scrambling to elevate James to GOAT status to soften the blow of Jim being a two time loser to the same team back2back. I'm sure Boris and Retard will go down as all-time defensive stoppers as well.

like i said the only legacy that be effected is duncan

i dont know what legacy that midget enrique has, but he has no point hero balling or padding his stats and forfeiting games due to his selfishness in situations not needed....

remember another loss, ppl will blame it on duncan when enrique for the last 7 seasons has been handed the leadership keys, if ur the leader and u dont shoulder the fail losses then what are you? fake ass leader?

The Spurs' ascending to back to back Finals is a direct result of injuries to Chuckbrook last year and Iblocka this year. Otherwise it's the Spurs' status quo.

At least when y'all lose again this year, LkrFan can no longer say the Spurs haven't repeated. :rollin :lmao :rollin

im surprise lakerfags dont bring up the what "if" game had kirby not going down and staying down with that monster contract...

as for spurs fans in regards to the enrique fanbase, have started to become the kirby fanbase, all wins and recognition credited, but losses they point the finger to someone else...

why are kobefans always bringing up duncan to comparison sakes?

comparing a goat to a scrub does not make kirby top10 in anyones eyes besides laker fanboys

if u want a real comparison, you should be comparing kirby to that betas, durant, wade, enrique, drexler, pippen

if u dont want to compared kirby to betas, we can go by ring counts, if u go by ring counts his still behind guys like horry, kerr...

i know 3 is greater than 2, and 2 is greater than 1. at least those are for individual awards. if u wanna talk about team awards, thats a different case and you can start a thread about det one

hole was split three different ways.
