The ship jumping has hit a ridiculous all time low. If at the beginning of the season you were told your team would be in the finals tied 1-1 going back to Miami and THE SPURS had home court, would you expect to react the way you are right now? No, you would be fucking ecstatic. All playoffs long the ship jumping has been at an absurd level, do you fucking lunatics have jobs or hobbies? First, we get Dallas who brings us to the brink and when they were up 2-1 everyone on here was like "Oh man Pops legacy is sure is gonna take a hit if he loses in the first round", "Oh wow, the Spurs shit the bed in the finals and now they're gonna get eliminated the first round" etc. But what happened? They fucking won because they are a tried and tested team who has been there before. Next round we get Portland, okay easy. Than on to OKC where we look great and than stumble and end up tied at 2-2 and I swear half of this board went on suicide watch. You were all CERTAIN that it was over. The team you claim to fucking love and root for you gave up on in 4 fucking games! You didn't even let the fucking series finish before you could start saying "2012 all over again", "Timmy can't compete against these bigs", "Parker is a bitch" etc. etc. etc...

Are you not proud of what your team has done? Are you that clueless to the trolls that come on here to deliberately piss all of you off by saying things like "Oh if Duncan loses and Bron wins, Timmy isn't a top 10 player anymore"....LOL REALLY? NOT EVEN FUCKING LEBRON THINKS THAT. Tim Duncan has NEVER missed the playoffs. Tim Duncan has been to the finals 6 fucking times. Jesus people, wake up. Win or lose this will not effect his legacy. Even if the Spurs end up 97/98 Utah Jazz replicas....wanna know something? Those Jazz teams were FUCKING GREAT and EVERY true bball fan still remembers that entire lineup to this day...and they never won a thing.

BUT, this series isn't even over yet and everyone is out. After 1 loss? I get it, LeBron went off, like really went off, but that is what he is supposed to do. The dude took a hit on his career for cramping up overnight and you didn't expect him to respond with a career game? Its fine, he did it, we experienced The LeBron game and we went with it. The Spurs didn't roll over, they absorbed every fucking punch and we're in it until the end. Statistics don't need to tell you that that matters. They can compete with these guys. Sure, they missed an incredible opportunity to go up 2-0 but who the fuck said this would be easy? Miami always wins following a game 1 loss, it wasn't gonna stop on the biggest stage. They are the champions for a reason.

Pop was down 2-1, responded to Dallas. Tied 2-2 and responded to OKC. Tied 1-1 now and lets wait and see what happens before you tear apart every single thing the man does. HE is the reason we are here right now and if you don't realize that you are blind as fuck. He has made the right adjustment for every single series so far and for you to think one isn't coming for their trip down to Miami is just absolute craziness. Sorry for ranting but you guys need to show some fucking pride. The Spurs didn't get blown out last night, they missed free throws and executed poorly in GAME 2. That is what cost them and they know it...but the key fucking word here is GAME 2. This is why teams play best of 7. FUCKING BELIEVE PEOPLE.

This forum is mildly notorious for its cliff jumping and team-and-coach bashing.

It is unpleasant in the extreme, but there are those of us who keep trying to remind folks how lucky we are to be fans of this great team.

Keep up the challenges, though…we need them!!

I know, I have been a reader for years....but to be honest the disgraceful cliff jumping in the finals when your team is tied is unacceptable and needs to be called out. Who the fuck really even thought we'd be back here after last years trauma? Getting here alone is an impressive feat considering in the west you actually have to play good teams to get to the finals.

Hell, I was surprised that we even got to the finals LAST year, much less this year!

I'm so thrilled with this team it makes my eyes water sometimes. It is why I can't be on this forum during the games…in the event that a game takes a wrong turn, the vitriol against our own makes me want to hurt people.

Whether or not we win the championship this year, this team will always be a wonderful, classy, talented and entertaining group of men playing the most beautiful bball I have ever seen.

Evay is right that cliff-jumping is rampant after every loss (and some wins, no less). It's part of the scenery. But I like your enthusiasm and you're spot on about how impressive it is for us to get here.

I am of the opinion that despite his 35 and 10 night, we're guarding LeBron exactly right. His assists are down, his effort is up, and I think he'll be taxed as the series wears on. I think Pop has calculated this. All the things in the last game, missed free throws, fouls to Kawhi, LeBron perfect from 3, a slight faltering in the last 2 minutes, and yet we barely lost. I think the Spurs have the Heat in a good position as they are becoming more and more LeBron dependent. (They get blown out per minute when he sits). So, LeBron got big numbers. Let's make him do it EVERY game just to have a chance. Spurs in 6.

I agree with OP wholeheartedly. But expect a little griping, whining and cliff diving with a grain of salt. People come here to gripe and find a little reassurance in the comments from the little girls who REALLY can't handle a loss. Always makes me feel a little better after a loss. I'm like 'maybe I don't take these losses so hard after all.' :lol

Anyone check out the field goal percentage and free throw? Heat 37-70 53%. Spurs 36-82 43% Free throws Heat 16-21 76% Spurs 12-20 60% iincluding 4 missed in a row in the 4th.

Heat just made their shots, Spurs missed theirs. It's not a matter of there being a team so much better, it's just who plays better. Spurs had plenty of chances. They're more than capable of winning 3 of 5 games.

Beating the Heat will take everything the Spurs have. It will not be a cakewalk. But hard to say that the series is over two games in. Anything can happen. Let's be honest, the Heat are a Lebron ankle sprain away from losing every game the rest of the way. And the Spurs can beat the Heat even with Lebron, but it will be hard as hell.

Though the cliff diving is annoying it's to be expected at this point. I mean people cliff dive if we lose the jump ball.

I absolutely hate the cliff diving that goes on around here.it seems like over half of the posters seriously have zero belief in their team.

There is one thing to be pessimistic, but another to be plain ignorant. Saying series is over after only losing one game is being ignorant.

And I truly believe a few posters only make these absurd comments to get a rise out of people. Which is why I personally never respond to such idiotic comments.

I think your typical Spurs fan are usually used to going into the Finals as favorites. This is really the first team that has put true fear into Spurs fans since we have ever made the Finals. NY, NJ, Detroit, and Cleveland we were each time heavy favorites everytime going into those series. I mean even the Pistons series I think every Spurs fan knew deep down that we would win that series even though it tool us seven games. This Miami team was/is the first team to defeat us in the Finals, and the only team I think fans have true doubts about. Lebron is the league's new poster boy and it terrifies Spurs fans that he is somehow going to come out on top.

I rarely post here, but regularly browse. this forum has some of the more whiny, emo, overreacting posters I've seen in sports messageboards.

I'm not the most optimistic person in the world, but I can see that this series is winnable.

Calm down, guys.

PS
I love the Spurs so much, I might even visit San Antonio, Texas when I finally move to the US, in a few years.

Yeah, the Heat are head and shoulders better than any of those four teams the Spurs faced prior.

Win or lose, the Spurs give Miami all they can handle. The difference is Miami has owned the Spurs in the nail biters whether it be regular or post-season

I have learned over the years, ever since the Spurs first moved to San Antonio, to never ever give up on them.
Yet I have also learned not to pin ALL my hopes on them.
That way I am pleasantly surprised and happy when and if they win, and it is NEVER the end of the world when and if they lose. And I celebrate their success with the best of them and don't allow their failures to affect me overly so.
After all is said and done, it is just a "game" called basketball, and not a life or death situation, thus I put it in proper perspective.

I never stated in my response that I was terrified. I just said this is the first team in a NBA Finals that have given us any real problems. When did we ever have to go up against the best player in the NBA in a Finals?
