The NBA makes a guy sell his franchise because they deem that WORDS negatively affected the nba. Wade's ACTIONS directly affected the outcome of a game, and he's still lying about it...

Sell the franchise and lifetime ban VERSUS $5k

What gives

Wade hurt his reputation just as much as Sterling did, imo

Wade should never be allowed to own an NBA team, tbh

do you know that Dwyane is pronounced "DW-I-YANE" not "DE WANE"

It is always the coverup that is worse than the crime, you should know that by now.

Besides, he must be a total moron if he thinks his lying helps. The video is conclusive that Manu did not get near his face, what a douche

can the league fine him for lying?

How do Sterling's racist comments in any way do anything do harm the NBA's "integrity" ??? As if there were such a thing. To me he is just a racist out of touch old fool. How about unbiased refereeing? How about fairness between small market and large market? If the NBA is truly interested in integrity, it needs to do away with West vs East, so that when it comes down to playoffs, the best teams are in the playoffs. Charlotte plays while PHX sits? Ridiculous. The referees have far too much sway and influence, even if they have neutral intentions, because they are 'fooled' by players selling fouls and flopping. Inconsistent refereeing, Ref bias, league agenda, promoting the pre-ordained 'favorites' ... these all point to a seriously flawed system. Fans want fairness and sportsmanship, real fans that is. That's what true sport is.

Agree. Sterling's comments have nothing to do with the NBA, but the league claims his comments are damaging. I find it ironic they are going to go through millions to get Sterling out, but only take 5k from wade, do nothing to the refs, and allow wade to INSIST that he DID GET HIT IN THE FACE. To me, that is extremely damaging, and wade is tossing that in their face.

Haven't read or seen footage of Wade's explanation, but it's obvious he wasn't hit and for him to claim otherwise is clearly untruthful. If NBA doesn't want to look like morons they should double his fine. Which of course still doesn't mean anything dollar-wise. What a farce.

And there's an ironic twist -- Ginobili is often considered a master flopper, but he wasn't even warned once about it this season.
"He took a swipe and he hit me," Wade said Monday, before the fine was announced. "It was a late call by the ref, but he called it."

"I saw Manu coming out of the corner of my eye to try to steal it so my only thing was to make sure that he didn't steal it," Wade said. "He swiped and he wound up hitting me and the ref called a foul. We move on."

I know Manu has been better about flopping this year, but are we really the team to criticize others for flopping? I mean, we've had a couple all-star floppers on this team for years. I'm particularly disgusted in how bad Tiago was this offseason. You know Manu is laughing at him at being caught and fined.

Maybe he convinced himself that Manu hit him. Mind over matter, ha.

Tiago just needs to stop flopping. Leave that shit to CP3. Manu exaggerates contact but honestly I have never seen him fake the contact like Chris Paul routinely does.

Spurs need to flop more. NBA obviously isn't serious yet about punishing flopping, Heat are doing it, Spurs have to do it more

problem is the decision had a hand in the outcome of the game. It was a clear flop, I would venture to call it cheating as it was an obvious attempt at simulating to get an advantage.

Sadly but true, these guys are not honorable people and I dont give a shit what everyone else things about what I just said. Life will end up putting these people in their rightful place. Sooner or later.

I like Sterling much more than HGH Jaw. Wade is a piece of shit and phony, least Sterling is standing by his guns and willing to expose the bullshit of the league. People call him racist but anyone who is willing to bang and support that black/mexican hybrid chick, isn't that racist imo.

Atlanta Hawks Owner To Sell Team After Discovery Of Racist Email (http://thinkprogress.org/sports/2014/09/07/3564138/atlanta-hawks-owner-to-sell-team-after-discovery-of-racist-email/)

Bruce Levenson, the owner of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, will sell his controlling stake in the team after the discovery of a racist email he sent in 2012, NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced in a statement Sunday. The specific content of the email is not known but Levenson’s comments were apparently disparaging toward African Americans.

Levenson self-reported the email and the NBA was investigating the situation, but Levenson has already told Silver he will sell the team,

At one point, Levenson says specifically that his “theory is that the black crowd scared away the whites,” but Levenson paints the problem as a result of the racism of “southern whites,” not his own:

Sterling laughed all the way to the bank IMHO.

No way that team, or any NBA team, was worth $2 billion.

A team isn't worth what you think they are, or what I think they are, or what ANYONE thinks they are. It's like real estate: what will someone pay for it?

Except you said they weren't worth $2B, and they are, because that's what they sold for.
