Leadership. Your the leader out there tonight you didn't have to score 30, you had to lead them. That's probably the best thing I ever heard a coach tell a player.

one of Parker's best games imo. He was able to overcome Enrique and focused on winning.

As many of us have been saying, Tony Parker doesn't have to be a star to beat this Heat team, it isn't the same as last year..he just has to play a role, tbh..
I don't know why so many morons said that Parker has to play like an MVP for the Spurs to beat Miami:lol..
Tony just has to play smart, team basketball, which he's been doing well..

"this team goes as far as MVParker takes em and Kawhi needs to play at near-allstar level"
- Hater early in the playoffs on Spurs chances to ring in 2014

This. They don't make 'em like that very often anymore.
That shot of him tapping Kawhi's chest in encouragement was just awesome.

This is the only way to win this series. Tony has to realize that he doesn't need to be the MVP, he just need to contribute, make his defenders chase him through screens, and move the ball. It also helps that he's knocking down some 3s this series

Does anyone know when the quote happened? In the 3rd, Tony was killing the Spurs and Pop pulled him. If this happened after that then I suspect that it was Pops way of reinforcing that Tony shouldn't play the way he did in the 3rd and instead the way he did in the 4th. Fantastic coaching either way.

It's something I was thinking about last night. There has been no consistent Spur player through 3 games so far. Ginobili and Duncan were the best of Game 1. In Game 2 no one really stood out even though the big 3 put up solid numbers. Game 3 it was all Kawhi on both ends. If this keeps up it makes me wonder who the Finals MVP will be should the Spurs win the series.

It was in garbage time. Parker had shot FTs and then committed an intentional foul so Pop could sub him out.
