Yahoo Sports: The Heat is yawn: Sluggish start sinks Miami

Instead of matching the Spurs' desperation, the listeless Heat fell into a hole from which they never recovered.

So ... the headline is NOT: "Spurs Dominate" or "Spurs make NBA history with hot start, bury Heat". Nope. The headline is "Sluggish start sinks Miami".

And the headline didn't say Heat failed to match San Antonio's ENERGY ... no, they failed to match their "DESPERATION".

This is the kind of headline I'd expect to see on a Heat fan blog.

The are trying to get people to click on the headlines. The Heat get clicks, the Spurs don't.

This, plus Yahoo! Sports is hardly a beacon of journalistic integrity.

As long as #5 comes, I don't care. They can disrespect the Spurs all they want.

LOL, fo real man.

Have you ever seen the headlines on Spurs.com? If we win by 20, it's "Spurs trounce/thrash/rout (Insert Opponent Here)". If we get destroyed by 30: "Spurs fall to (Insert Opponent Here)."

The Spurs have never been attention wh0r#$ unlike Miami, who needs the main stream sports media to drum up drama to feed their egos...namely Mr. James. All that matters if the Spurs can make the Heat "Yawn" again in game 4. :flag:

This is nothing new, but it is a good thing.
It bodes well for the Spurs because whenever they snub the Spurs in the finals, they always bring back the trophy IMHO.

How can the Heat that shot something like 57% in the first half be classified as listless?

The Spurs were running on all cylinders in the first half. There wasn't an NBA defense that could've stopped them.

Oh, Gee!!

I don't know which group has been persecuted more in the history of mankind, Spurs fans or everybody else (jews, native americans, blacks, christians, pagans, witches, etc.).

Yep and IF we win it will be like all the other title we have won in that it will be largely ignored by the media.. The headlines will all be about Lebron and his legacy and the Heats future going forward.. IF we can pull this off just enjoy it and don't let the talking heads at ESPN bother you..

Hard working people who make enough through their efforts to become wealthy. Gotta' steal it from them and give it to the freeloaders.

The media is actually drumming up this loss ad nauseum in an effort to rile up James and the rest of heat hoping they respond

Those headlines do for Heat what Pop hopefully did punching Leonard in the chest post game. It is intended to inspire a team to come out aggressively.

This is the main NBA page of ESPN the following morning:

Big picture news and articles:

LBJ calls legends (Apparently he called legends 2 years ago after losing to the Mavs)
Dr. Jack tribute (I loved him but that is for when you have no news to give).
Mock Draft (version 2299439343)
No 2013 repeat (Oh yeah, some team beat the Heat last night)
Fish Knicks coach (although far less important news, at least it was news)

Latest news headlines:

Sources: Melo has June 23 opt-out deadline Video
July trial to decide D. Sterling's say in sale
Embiid visits as Cavs ponder No. 1 Video | Mock Insider
Silver: Time for Donald Sterling to 'move on' Video
Spurs roll from tip, seize 2-1 lead Video | Adande

I normally don't mind this kind of stuff but today they went overboard.

Yahoo! Sports has multiple articles recapping Game 3 from multiple angles. They have one entire article on Kawhi and another on our historic 1st half shooting. That's just the Heat's angle.
