As Spursfan313 pointed out, the Spurs went through a bitter rival team which is the last team to win besides Miami, beat what might be a team with a very bright future in the Blazers who just beat another great team with a bright future, then beat the mega hyped Thunder who had the league's MVP on it, and are now beating the b2b champs with the 3 MVP before this season on it.

If the Spurs win, it will be very sweet for long time Spurs fans.

they swept the lakers and blazers on the way, the 2 teams to make the WCF the following year. its not necessarily newsworthy if a team's most difficult matchup doesn't come in the finals... the nba finals were basically decided in the WC playoffs from 1999-2003. in fact, in all spurs championships outside of 05, the toughest opponent came during the WC playoffs
