View Full Version : Mavs: 3 years ago today, my Mavs became champions. Never forget.

I still can't believe that 3 years ago today, my Mavs finally became champions. They were finally the best team and the last team standing in the NBA. Dirk was awesome. He played his guts out for that ring in 2011. I've never seen an NBA player want to win the championship as much as Dirk did in 2011. It wasn't just Dirk that wanted it. JET, Kidd, Chandler, Marion, Stevenson, Haywood, and everyone on the team wanted to ring. What made it even more awesome is that it was against the Heat. If you are a Mavs fan, you hate the Heat especially Wade. What Mavs nation went through in 2006 is something that no fans should ever have to experience. To have it just taken away from you because the fat jew fuck boss wants a manufactured superstar is heartbreaking.

I was so nervous that day. I did not think it was over until probably the last minute. I just said to myself "the Heat are going to come back". Yet, they didn't do it. It's a shame that Mark Cuban took a shat on the team in 2011. Haters can say whatever they want but I still think if Cuban had brought back 90 percent of the team back, the Mavs would have made it back to the Finals.

Anyways, like Dirk said after game 6, "no one can ever take this away from us again".

On a side note, this is the last and only time Superfriend have been eliminated in the playoffs.

In hindsight, letting Tyson Chandler go was probably a mistake, IMO.

Meh they caught lightning in a bottle. The following would obliterate the '11 Mavs:

'12, '13, '14 Heatles
'12, '13, '14 Spurs
'12, '14 Thunder

I'd rather remember 1 championship than no championships. Like I said, you go through something like 2006 and you never take anything for granted when it comes to your team again.

:lol Josh Howard fucking the Mavs in game 5 or 6 is best.

Called the last timeout in between the FTs and ruin the chance to in bound the ball from half court.

Tbh, players should not be allowed to call for timeout unless they are down on the floor scrabbling for the ball.

most gimmicky title ever, no building team, just signing oldies that were about to retire and otherwise didn't give a damn about them mavs..

Letting chandler to likely saved dirks legacy. No way the Mavs beat the heat the following years. The Mavs likely won't get out of the west the following years.

Now dirk sits comfortable above Garnett and right next to Kobe on the all time list.

at first I was skeptical when I read this, but after learning a little bit of Linux, I used Mavericks and 2012 title chances as my % input arguments and then probability as my output argument. Sure enough, after gathering up the results and using a few more sophisticated algorithms, it turns out that yes, indeed, the Mavericks chances of success in the 2012 season would have been greater if Mark Cuban kept Chandler on the roster

Yeah it's funny how much of the rivalry was Terry. When we played the Mavs in the playoffs this year, I was kinda shocked at how I didn't completely hate Dallas anymore. It helps that Cuban isn't running his mouth on camera nearly as much as he did in the past.

will b e remembered for the wrong reasons, they will never get the credit they deserve, cause they fell off the face of the earth the following year with the stupidty fo moves

but 1hit wonder will always be 1hit wonder, they will never recover to their glory days..they are nothing more then a treadmill team atm who be happy just to make the playoffs

Who cares. They had a great run that year.

They swept Phil Jackson and sent him on a shit-filled boat out to sea, and then they whooped the Super Friends. Good stuff.

And healthy 2011 Spurs and healthy 2013 Thunder. Let's not forget the Spurs were the primo west team and got knocked out in first round when Manu broke his elbow.

The 2011 Mavs were good, but they were just a "right place, right time" team, not an all time great.

2011 Mavs were a great team. They beat the Blazers in the first round when everyone thought they were going to blow a 2-0 lead against them. They beat Kobe and the 2 time defending champion Lakers. They beat Durant, Westbrick, and Harden in the WCF. And let's not forget that they beat Superfriends in the Finals and were down 2-1 in that series too. Thank you.

Franklin
06-13-2014, 02:19 AM
we didn't only beat Kobe and his Lakers who were defending champs, we SWEPT them and went on to eliminate OKC 4-1 in the conference finals. Super Fags caused us some troubles in the finals, making us trail 1-2 after 3 games but we didn't lose no game again in that series. We were the 2011 MuthaFuckin' Champions of the year, nobody could take it away from us, nobody :cry

The best part was how shamed the Lakers were in defeat. I believe it was Andrew Abdul Jabynum who got tossed in the last game after a horribly dirty play on little JJ. And Phil had to retire getting swept with his team acting like a bunch of thugs. I hate the Mavs with a passion but that run was spectacular to watch.

10/11 we still had rj right? no way we winning that shit with a passive prick who had all the tools to beat the SF guarding him...but rather stand on the perimeter looking good then actually doing something about it

you see how kawhi beats his man off the dribble on the perimeter, a guy like rj had better ballhandling against the scrubs that year but he never shown any glimps of that from his NJ days...pathetic tbh, whether he was scared of blowing up plays and hearing a ear load from popabitch
