View Full Version : Sheehan: I am not paying my taxes!

As she continues her anti-war protest, Cindy Sheehan is labeling President Bush a "maniac" and a "lying bastard," and she's vowing not to pay her federal income tax.

"My son was killed in 2004. I am not paying my taxes for 2004," Sheehan told an audience of Veterans for Peace. "You killed my son, George Bush, and I don't owe you a penny. ... You give my son back and I'll pay my taxes. Come after me [for back taxes] and we'll put this war on trial."

Could it be she doesn't want to divulge the amount of donations she received.

It's weird she says that now, because I brought taxes it in the other thread today.

Another big hit against crediblility, after the divorce bombshell earlier. Seriously, she could have done some good by being patient and understanding the media and how Bush acts and reacts to people. Now two weeks into the annual vacation, and crowds of up to 400 people have been there. And they're pissing off W's neighbor's now, and he decided to warm up for dove season.

This thing might get ugly. Like real, Kent State kind-of-ugly.

If this is the best dirt that the right-wing attack machine can get on Cindy they are in for a long winter...

But it turns out there is historical precedent for a President to speak to a soldier’s mother more than once.

Shortly after the battle of Gettysburg, Edward, the elderly White House usher, showed a careworn, tearful woman into Lincoln’s office. Her husband and both of her sons were in the Army, she explained, and she was finding it hard to survive. Could she have one of her sons back?

The way she told her story moved him. He stood by the fire, his head low, keeping a grip on his emotions. ‘I have two and you have none,” he murmured. He stepped over to his desk and composed an order that would secure her youngest son’s discharge.

A few days later, Edward came to tell him, “That woman, Mr. President, is here again and still crying.”

“Let her in.”

The grief-stricken mother confronted him. She had found her son’s regiment, she told Lincoln, only to be informed that he had just died of wounds suffered in the battle of Gettysburg. Could she not have her surviving son.

Again he said softly, “I have two and you have none.” He sat down to write out another order. She stood beside him, and as he wrote, she stroked his wild mane, shooting in all directions and showing gray tints, as a mother might stroke a child’s. He stood up and thrust the order into her hands. He did not trust himself to say more than “There!” Then he hurried out of the room before he gave way to tears.

This will end badly. I don't care what she thinks, she better go ask Willie about not paying your federal income taxes.

The Democratic Spin machine will pay all fines and penalties. This is the way they operate. This whole thing is for political gain. NBADan is the flag bearer. He is a bitter individual.

The Democratic Spin machine will pay all fines and penalties.

Which she will then have to declare as income. Taxes suck.

bush is always saying how he meets with the family of the soliders that died, and now he is refusing because he disagrees with peace that she has. Doesn't seem like bush has anthing to stand on here.

I was under the impression that Bush had already met with her and her husband a year ago.

She met with Bush in June of 2004. Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cindy_Sheehan)

And they said some great things about our President after they met with him. She only recently changed her story. Her Son was in the Army 10 years! That's at least 2 reenlistments. He was on his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq...

Don't you think he would of figured out the "recruiter lied to him" by then?

Considering

1) he already met with her once

and

2) she's now on Michael Moore's payroll

I think he has every leg to stand on in not seeing her stupid ass.

Christ, her son was a career Army guy, not some joe blow who thought he could get a free education by doing National Guard duty once a month.

Dan, all you can come up with is going back to the Civil War? I'd say that the president today has a *few* more things on his plate than anyone in charge back then.

Wasn't preventing the South's secession a little more important than liberating Iraq while taking a working vacation? Excuse me if I took this out of context.

edit: I can't believe that he just doesn't meet with her again and get this over with. Is it because he doesn't feel like he has to, given that she's turned from a grieving mother to a vehement war protester?
