I can't name 15 PGs in the league who's better than our patty.
he'll be averaging 18/4/8 if he's starting for a different team tbh.
Consider us lucky :toast

If there's at least one NBA team that agrees with you, then Patty will be playing elsewhere next season.

Parker
Westbrook
Paul
Rondo
Rose
Curry
Lillard
Wall
Teague
Irving
That's 10 who are all comfortably better than him off the top of my head. Dude is a great backup but lets not go over the top.

Where is my man Dragic? He is in top 10 easily.

Bigger homers...Aussie fans or Argie fans?
Mills isn't a point guard he's an undersized shooting guard that's fast and can shoot. When he's in the game, Pop plays him with other creators.

Ok no argument here, but none of your listed players other than Parker are playing in the finals. Also, guys like Irving may score so much that thier teams are sure to lose. Anyway, can you give us your next five as the OP said Mills is in the top 15?

Chris Paul
Russell Westbrook
Stephen Curry
Tony Parker
Goran Dragic
Eric Bledsoe
Damian Lillard
Kyle Lowry
Mike Conley
John Wall
Kyrie Irving
Jeff Teague
Ty Lawson
Derrick Rose (when healthy)
Rajon Rondo (when healthy)
15 guys who are unquestionably better than Mills. Then there are guys like Deron Williams, Isaiah Thomas, Ricky Rubio, Kemba Walker, Brandon Jennings, George Hill, and Reggie Jackson. You could easily argue Mills isn't a top 20 PG in the league.

Reggie Miller said Patty could be gone next year as a starter for another team and a big pay raise.

I'm all for Mills getting a starting gig with another team as long as he helps the Spurs win the finals!! Otherwise, all bets are off and he can go and play in Europe. One thing I did notice last game was that Pop substituted Mills for DG when he got in foul trouble instead of using Beli or Cojo. Does that mean that Pop is starting to trust Mills?

I don't think you can fairly judge him against starting PGs because he doesn't operate in that role. He excels as the energy guy off the bench, looking to push the ball and score/shoot. He also operates quite a bit off the ball as a consequence of the system. I love what he brings for the Spurs, but I don't think you can say for sure he's a top-10 PG that can run a team as the primary point.

i won't, but considering the pg position is the most stacked in the league by far, op is retarded.

We will probably never know if he is capable as a PG unless he goes to another team as a starter. Patty either needs to find another team or Pop should commit to his development through increased minutes and increased patience with his mistakes. It appears that Pop has cured Mills the chucker, so I don't see why he can't develop him in other facits of the game.

I don't think he is top 15, but he is a really good back up.
And I don't think he leaves next year either, the same for Diaw, especially so if they win it all this year.
The only way they leave is if they get traded IMHO.

I'd take Patty Mills over Brandon Jennings and George Hill.
Brandon Jennings is an inefficient chucker who plays little to no defense...but you never know what he'd be like if he were playing a much smaller role on a team like these Spurs and being coached by Pop. Jennings is certainly more talented than Mills, but there's always the question of whether he'd "buy into the system" and be willing to accept a smaller role.
George Hill...ehhh, I'd probably take Patty too. I could see the argument for Hill though if someone already had enough offensive firepower on their bench and needed more defense instead.

Bottom line at this moment in time, Mills is the second best PG in the NBA bar none. That may change tomorrow, but I certainly hope not!!!
