I guess that answers that question. Wonder who the 3rd ref is going to be.

Kennedy may just be here to be the alternate. He was the Game 3 alternate. Usually there are only 12 officials working this round and if that's true this year, we know who those 12 are and Kennedy isn't one of them.

Mauer famously gave the spurs like a 6 or 7 point possession by calling like 3 technicals on a single play.

I like Mauer... but one thing that's been pretty clear is that if the Spurs play their best, refs shouldn't make much of a difference..

You seem to be on the pulse with predicting officials, who you got?

If the Spurs play like they have been, even Joey Crawford couldn't keep them from winning.

Kennedy made a pretty big difference in Game 6 of 2012.

We're not the same team and we weren't playing against the same team. I mean, sure, if all of a sudden Lebron gets 30+ freebies, then yeah, sure. KD and WB have always been notorious for getting freebies.

frankly, neither team has played well at home. Hopefully that changes tomorrow, with Diaw starting. I can't pin any game to the refs so far though. I think as long as the Spurs keep playing solid and Miami keeps looking lost, the refs will be immaterial. We'll see.

My hunch after the Game 4 assignments were announced was that Game 5 would be Foster, Mauer, and either Marc Davis or James Capers. Sounds like I got Mauer right; we'll see about the rest.

This.

Our team's focus to win a game officiated by Joey just proved to me how locked in they are. Love my team, Go Spurs Go!

With the way they've been shooting the last two games they can assign whoever the fuck they want, it ain't gonna make a difference.

Kennedy is an OKC fan IMO.

Joey Crawford is a decent ref when he works Spurs games since the fiasco.

Miami can easily get away with lots of fouling on the perimeter when they trap
you dont get free throws out of it directly unless in the bonus but it leads to transition dunks for Miami which are huge if not called tbh

Miami is at good odds with the bookmakers for Foster... that could be dangerous. :lol

Foster, Mauer and Davis. So the same crew as game 1. That worked out ok results wise, but they weren't the best from what I remember.

Quick question.

Is the OP is talking about the Marriot Plaza hotel on South Alamo? Not far from the HF tower?

I stayed there for Game 1 WCF and the referees stayed there then as well. I recommend the breakfast there. It's great.

Can't wait for the game. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun evening - love the 7 pm central start......

Didn't the Spurs turn it over 23 times in game one? With the lineup change, that is NOT going to happen. Tiago was throwing passes into the stands several times that game. Tony is going to do his job, pick his spots to score within the flow, and take care of the ball. Other than Lebron, who can stay with TP? Anyone? This is not setting up well for Lebron and heroball, even with the greatest hero out there, will probably not end well.

Are we still worried about the refs in this forum? The Spurs could care less about who is officiating these game, because the refs can not put the ball in the basket for Miami and they can't stop theSpurs from doing so. Spurs win tonight, no matter who is there.

This crew called it really tight and a lot of touch fouls in game 1. Hope that's not the case tonight

Home teams are 7-5 with Foster in the 2014 playoffs; 8-3 with Davis; and 8-4 with Mauer.

Since 2011 (the Big 3 era), the Heat, in the playoffs are:

Foster: 15-5 overall; 5-3 on the road; 4-2 in the Finals; 2-2 in 2014 (lost Game 1 at Indiana, Game 1 of the Finals)
Davis: 7-3 overall; 4-3 on the road; 0-3 in the Finals; 2-1 in 2014 (lost Game 1 of the Finals)
Mauer: 8-5 overall; 2-3 on the road; 2-2 in the Finals; 1-2 in 2014 (lost Game 5 at Indiana, Game 1 of the Finals).

In the Duncan era, the Spurs, in the playoffs are:

Foster: 12-9 overall; 6-4 at home; 1-2 in the Finals; 2-1 in 2014 (won Game 4 at Dallas, lost Game 3 at OKC).
Davis: 8-2 overall; 7-0 at home; 2-0 in the Finals; 4-0 in 2014 (Game 7 v. DAL; Game 3 @ PRT; Game 1 v. OKC)
Mauer: 17-10 overall; 10-3 at home; 2-2 in the Finals; 3-0 in 2014 (Game 5 v. PRT; Game 2 v. OKC)

My guess for Game 6 is Danny Crawford, Mike Callahan, and either Tony Brothers or James Capers. My guess for Game 7 remains Joey Crawford, Monty McCutchen, and Scott Foster.
