Hypothetical question of course.

If the series 7 and he continues to score and shoot as efficiently as he has, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Shooting above 50% from the field, shooting great from 3. He leads all scorers, and is the only player on the Heat that has played well in every game so far. No Spurs player has the stats or the impact that he has shown in all 4 games so far. The difference is that there is no way you award it to a player on a team getting pummeled the way the Heat have been so far.

That being said, the Spurs better win and either Kawhi or Duncan better get it

West, wasn't it?

But I think, the league also said, that they wouldn't do it again.

The Media Valuable Player award is chosen by phucksticks who get it right about 49% of the time, so......

what exactly would he be MVP for? What has he done that's been memorable besides cramping and pissing during the game?

The NBA won't do it. After the last time it happened they said they would never do it again. But if it did happen...my reaction would be embarrassment, for the most part, that someone on our team didn't win it. And also anger at the NBA for giving it to the leader of the other team who's team just got DOMINATED pretty much all series long. I'd imagine Lebron would be pretty embarrassed too, having to come out of the devastated Heat locker room and accept the Finals MVP award while the Spurs are celebrating and accepting the Championship trophy right in front of him. Because it's awarded during the Championship ceremony.

He's the MVP of a one man team. One man team is a paradox. Therefore it follows that while there is no way in Hades a losing player should get it, apparently such a strange thing has already happened!

If Khawhi has a big night he may get it depending on how much Duncan does.

Assuming Spurs win, its Leonard or Duncan.

No way could he win it if the Spurs win tonight. Despite his great stat line in this series, the bottom line is that he's the leader of the Heat, and so he's ultimately responsible for the rest of the team's performance. And to lose by 15+ in 3 games already in this series (including 2 blowouts at HOME), and a 4th by X amount...there's no way he could win Finals MVP now unless this series goes 7 and Lebron averages a triple double.

His 19 points of 21 for his team while we outscored them by 5 to effectively end the game in the third quarter really said it all.

I couldn't care less about the Finals MVP. They can give it to Greg Oden for all I care.

This shouldn't even be a possibility.

The losing team shouldn't get rewarded for losing in any way, be it individually or as a whole.

As long as Duncan rings

Wouldn't care. It's all about the ring and no individual on our team deserves FMVP over Lebron anyway.

Realistically they'll give it to a Spur if we win.

There is only one goal and that's a championship.
