I never wavered in my support of Manu. It was clear last year he had no point guard help last year and the bench was a com0lete sham bles which put too much pressure on him. With Mills settling the point guard position and Bellinelli helping out as well Manu was able to be fresh all year long and much more effective. I hope he can keep up this level of play for another year or two.

I'll happily eat crow tbqh. I was one of the biggest detractors when he got his new deal because he just looked flat out done last year. He was a net negative in the playoffs last year overall and played a key part in the 6 debacle.

But, he was a fucking beast tonight and really since the playoffs began. He played intelligent, aggressive ball for long stretches and keyed some big momentum swings with BIG 3s. His aggressiveness tonight, culminating with the flush was a thing of beauty.

To all you Manutards and to the man himself, I apologize for not believing...thinking he was done physically, thinking there's no way he'd come back mentally, and thinking he took advantage of the Spurs' loyalty with that contract.

I will never again doubt. Cheers to a truly great competitor and player. He came bavk from the dead to help deliver 5. God bless Manu Ginobili.

We already know TP's gonna rest this offseason. Hopefully Manu follows suit and opts not to play for the national team. That way, we'll have a fully rested Big 3 come next season and will be a legitimate threat for a repeat.

I would have awarded Manu the mvp of the series. Leonard may have been the most consustent player in the series but without Manu's legendary 1st quarter performance tonight the spurs likely would have never fought out of that 22-6 hole they were dug into and it is very likely they lose that game and from there who knows what could have happened with momentum turning to the heat's favor.

SpursRock20

It's possible. Manu hit 41 threes in these playoffs. I don't think he'll ever have that much again but, assuming Spurs go on another deep run, I could see him making anywhere between 25 and 30 threes. Over his 11 year playoff career, Manu averages 26 threes per post-season. Pretty close to that 28 number to catch Miller.

I didn't need Manu to even show up to this game to appreciate all he has done for the Spurs. He already proved himself a very long time ago. He could do no wrong in my book, even if he was throwing the ball into the cheap seats. Same with Duncan. Tho, I'm sure glad they both had great games. I'm just happy for them. They deserve it all.

Behind the back dribbles, nutmegs, no look passes, shoot 3s, eurosteps, dunks, sometimes uses his right, plays PG, he block and steal, is a good defender when the hell Lebron or Jordan did that?, and even being so fucking gifted he plays team ball is a competitor by nature makes teammates better, game 5 was horrible ītill Manu stepped into the court and everytime he left Spurs suffered.

this is obviously great vindication for so many people who understand and love Manu. He has been bastardized in these forums for far too long by people who believe know about BB, but most importantly, by people who believe they understand the guy.

it wouldn't be too far fetched to say the Spurs probably wouldn't have won any of the finals they've won since 2003 without Manu.

If this is the CoM official parade, then let me proceed into the good ole drunken rant while threating people with a broken bottle. I'm going off on one here, because I wasn't around for last years Finals -serious family health related issues-.

Manu's last year playoffs were not as bad as some people try to make them look. He did have some issues with turnovers, but they weren't all his fault. Many times the player that had to roll, make a basket cut or move into a position to show himself open, was instead standing in the corner like Bruce Bowen did in the Spurs of old. He was the only reliable ballhandler, playmaker and scorer getting minutes apart from Tony. Manu was made the scapegoat of the collapse, when the responsabilities should've been shared among the team. There were plenty of mistakes committed by several players and the coaching staff, but the only one being clearly targeted was Manu. Of course, when you get used to years of high standards, you get dissapointed if things don't work the way you expected. But this is what the Spurs have been about all these years, if they lose and go through hard times, just shake them off and keep coming back every year. But there's no way I will allow that big piece of lie to stand, that delusional idea that Manu was responsible for the Spurs not ringing in 2013. Whenever that junk is repeated, or even suggested, I will go down on your ass like a 36-year old left-handed Argentinian on Chris Bosh. :ihit

Now bartender gimme some more of that booze! I love you all guys :cry
